  1. We got my son one for christmas so this is helpful.

so far we picked up Creed, Beat Saber, Star Wars: Tales from the Galaxy and Job Simulator.

hes been mostly playing Creed, in fact so much that he was sore AF last night.

I had no idea we could setup a wireless connection from my PC.  My PC os already wired so I need to check that out. would love to try Half-Life. However, Im still on a i7-4770K and a 980ti. Will that be enough juice to run it?

  2. I was just looking into this. My internal is close to full and Ive had to delete a bunch of stuff.

    currently i have:

    Mass Effect: andromeda

    AC: Valhalla

    COD: Vanguard

    COD: Warzone

    Battlefield 1

    Battlefield V

    Forza 5

    Skater XL

    Skate 3

    Halo 5

    Halo Infinite

    Insurgency: Sandstorm

    i have around 70G left I think.

Id like to get the 2TB card but I cant wrap my brain around spending $400 on it. Its almost the cost of the system itself. Ill probably grab the 1TB card next time its on sale. Ive seen it for $180 here and there.

  3. Ive been sick of all things Marvel for a while now. Just so tired of the superhero genre. To me, its the new zombies.

but all this talk about Guardians of The Galaxy being so amazing has me intrigued. I guess Ill have to check it out (doesnt hurt that of all the marvel movies, GOTG 1 is by far my favorite and one of the only ones I can repeatedly watch).

What amazes me most about this announcement video is how legitimately good the original still looks somehow. I haven't seen it in a long time and damn.

not only that, but Its the first game to introduce that 3rd person, over-the-shoulder view.

2 years later - the hot garbage that is Resident Evil 4 comes out and somehow is  praised for its “revolutionary” over-the-shoulder gameplay. Meanwhile, not only did Splinter Cell do it first, you could actually fucking move and shoot at the same time.

  5. Finished up Ratchet and Clank and its the 4th game in my life that Ive gotten platinum’/100%. Loved this game. Cant wait for the next one.

Started Mass Effect: Andromeda tonight. ME is one of my absolute favorite trilogies and I cant remember why I never played Andromeda more than 1-2hrs when it came out and then just put it down.

also - Hell. Let. Loose. Shooter of the year for me.

    To summarize Tom Henderson's video:

    Summary of 2042 development:

    • Developers started leaving during the release of BFV, as EA wanted to compete against other games (BRs and normal shooters) and their concepts internally never given a look at.
    • EA basically gave the memo of "copy what's popular".
    • Classes scrapped early 2020.
    • WFH with cross-gen was a massive pain with 5 different platforms with hardware being shared remotely.
    • Game shifted into a BF title April-August 2020 from the BR (so basically about 18 months of development time) with 128p & specialists.
    • The games original concept got shifted into Hazard Zone.
    • August 2020 is when production really got started and concepts got solidified. So basically 1 year and 3 months of true production.
    • The leaked trailer (the epilepsy one) was basically early in production in early 2021 and show to QA in early 2021 in its finished form. Used BF3/BF4 assets.
    • "Ahead of schedule" was a giant fib. Past & current DICE devs say it was based on baseless predictions.
    • In March 2021 DICE was overwhelmed and admitted they need help from others. But it wasn't easy again due to engine issues with lack of experience.
    • Later on in the months it became obvious so many issues like UI where creeping up and causing many issues.
    • Technical test came and of course was unstable and used Orbital as mentioned in the video was the concept map. And made clear the game was way behind schedule. And Tom was given indications then that BF 2042 was in a troubled state and stressed working environment (not due to crunch but more management issues etc).
    • Tom then got word that the beta & launch was going to be delayed but only a few hours later it was clear the delay was weeks and not months.
    • And of course the last stretch where the beta was basically an alpha and the launch being a launch.
    • In summary vast majority of development issues was a massive lack of time, could've benefitted of an extra year or so in an era where delays of 3-6 months where common. And since so many people have left over development time the studio DICE is basically so different now it needs renaming to reflect reality.
    • Many projects where scrapped including a BC3 which EA thought wouldn't sell for some reason.

    The future:

    • The next BF shooter is being scoped as a hero shooter.
    • Most interestingly it may be bands of specialists/heroes fighting against each other and not armies, even further away from BF 2042.
    • The "connected universe" is basically adding depth to the specialists.
    • A BR will come in the near future, not next 6 months but vague timeframe.
    • That said things have not absolutely set in stone and DICE developers have been hard at work trying to fix the game to be good as possible (though personally in my eyes the game has fundamental issues of the gameplay core that can't mesh well with say the maps, least that's my opinion) and listening to the community.

    "Battlefield 2077" indeed!

In other words, RIP Battlefield. :rose:

  7. Im just about to finish Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart. Such a charming game. its visually amazing and i often just stop and look around at the environments. I don't want it to end, so ill probably run around and finish up some achievements.

still playing Hell Let Loose. Eagerly awaiting the eastern front patch for console.

  8. Im surprised anyone even thinks the game actually looks good. Its mediocre at best.

there is way less destruction than previous BF games

the interior of buildings are completely empty. Like they are just corridors and cubes

the environment itself doesnt look like a war was going on. The streets are clean and empty. No debris

theres literally a map of just fucking shipping containers. Thats it.

its like they spend the entire budget building and designing a sandstorm and thats it.

A friend of mine that plays on PC mentioned that the cheat hacks that worked on the previous BF work on this and that a lot of PC players are using aim bot. I played a few games last night and that would explain a lot of weird deaths I had.

if youre playing on console there is no aim assist. Or if there is, is so little, that it doesnt make a difference.

@Zaku3I'll have to try out the smg's. Most of my engagements tend to take place at assault rifle range so I was floating between them, marksman, and sniper. I was really only feeling proficient with the sniper.

the consensus is that SMGs are better at range than ARs in this game. 🤦🏼‍♂️

And for xbox, there is no in-game way to disable cross-play. You have to do it at the system level, which then disables is for every game.

It sucks that this bombed and Activision is too toxic to buy the new CoD, I’ve been itching for a good multiplayer FPS to pick up.

what the Hell are you talking about? Let your hair down and take a look at what's out there. There are definitely other options that aren't this Loose

    • Haha 5
  12. so this is just the MP, right? the campaign is still releasing in December? this is awesome bc BF2042 and Vanguard are pretty bad. I havent played Halo MP since 3.

As for the campaign, I still havent played Halo 5. Not sure why, but I recall that something about it turned me off and made not even want to play. I was hoping to run through the campaign quick before Infinite came out, but Im not even sure I need to. Thoughts?

  13. Now that Ive thought about it more…heres why this BF sucks:

as other have mentioned and I stated during the beta thread - the maps as awful. Theres concentrated areas but then vast nothingness between points. So theres almost no incentive to leave a single point if you want to just stay In the action. 128 players dont matter if youre spending 5-10 minutes to run between points and see no one.

The UI is awful. It so convoluted to just and switch classes

the class system is basically gone anyway since gadgets dont seem to be tied to a class.

no voice chat in an allegedly squad based game. LOL

there are no indicators of who is support for ammo and if you go down, theres no indicator how far away a medic might be. If there is ammo on the ground, its difficult to see.

they removed a ton of the cool movement they introduced in BFV. The BFV movement felt unique to BF but this game is a straight COD ripoff and a giant step backwards

the in-game attachment wheel for your gun is a giant gimmicy ultra-arcadey piece of shit mechanic. This shouldnt exist. In any capacity. At all.

graphically its meh. Theres nothing amazing about it and when it does finally look like a BF moment, it lags and i was getting weird texture pop-in that ruined it.

The brought back random bullet deviation! Everyone hated that!!!  And its really bad in this game way worse than the older games. Im not super great shooting, I think I had a 1.8 K/D in BFV, so Im no slouch either…but I cant fucking hit anyone in this game. And its so bad and the egagements are so far, i was burning through ammo and running out. Now im running around with a fucking pistol trying to find ammo. Thats not fun.

and then…if you do hit some, its fucking hit marker galore. It takes like 7-8 hits to kill someone. Its insane.

compound the random bullet spread, long engagements and low starting ammo with the immediate meta of everyone running armor plates and its like youre in a water gun fight. The armor plates need to go. Or tie them to a specific specialist

And my last point is not specific to this gsme…but ive said it before….consoles need to a way to turn on console-only crossplay. I do not want to play with PC players. Its esp bad in this gsme too. Normally, ive noticed in other games, they try to fill the lobby with console players. You might see a a few random pc players. In this game, it looked like almost half were pc.  With aim-assist being either off or very low in the game, you have no chance of winning against an even semi-competent pc player.

  14. Playing the full game has not changed my mind since the beta. This is by far the worst battlefield ive ever played. The only saving grace is portal. It was cool to jump in to the older games and play, esp 1942…but im not paying 70 for that. Ill wait until this is in the 30 range.

theres just so much bad, im having a hard time figuring out what I think is good. thank you gamepass/ea for the free 10hr trial.

  15. I picked it up. I like that it feels more like COD MW19 than Cold War did.

I have about 1 1/2hrs of MP time and Ive already come across 2 cheaters.  One game the dude won with a nuke within like 5 minutes. The scoreboard showed he had 147 Kills. LMAO. The other dude had dogs out in under 1 minute of the game.  Went to win with like 100 kills.

I REEEEAAALLLLLY wish console players can turn off crossplay with PC. This is for every MP game.

The map design is fun. But the somehow the sound is even worse in this game. The directional audio is basically nonexistent and you cannot hear footsteps at all.

the game definitely needs to balance out the guns. LMG seem really OP. I saw a ridiculous no stock Kar98K with like a 12x scope and dude was just running around 1 shotting everyone bc the ADS was instantaneous with no stock. Sorry, but having no stock on a fucking long gun is just dumb. The recoil should uncontrollable.

Other than that, typical mounted/camper abuse going with like 4x scopes. Not sure what they can do about that, but it seems way more prevalent on this game.

  16. Im an avid mountain biker and was really looking forward to playing this. I know there are other mtb games, but theyve all missed the mark on what Mountain Biking is (with the exception of lonely mountain, that game is fun).

mountain biking isnt about racing on smooth wide-open tracks. The courses should be rocky and tight and they shouldve focused on suspension physics since almost all Mtbers obsess over it. I know this is meant to be arcadey but it was boringly implemented. I guess the best way for me to describe it is it felt like a generic rally racing car game, but on a bike.

no one cares about jet packs.

the skiing, snowboarding feels OK, but theres a lot to be desired in the controls. Snow sports have been done before and better.

i played for about an hour or so and turned it off during the trial week. Ill grab it when its $25 bux.
