Yeah, CNut reminded me of the whole daycare thing. It is expensive if you can't afford to have a parent at home. We were lucky that we, for the most part, could.

I'll give you that. We were fortunate. Had our kids in child care only for a couple years, then I started making enough money that the Woman didn't have to work. Having a stay-at-home parent cuts the cost of ages 1 thru "can be home alone after school" dramatically.

TBH until they are teenagers they aren't that expensive.
