I disagree. Not only does it matter where they are from, it matters who they are. Palin was a horrible choice for McCain. Kaine was a horrible choice for Clinton. Both of those picks did nothing to expand the coalition or help in battleground states.

Abrams would be a good choice I think. It would be crazy for Georgia to go blue in 2020. A Democrat hasn't won Georgia since 1992.

In my opinion, Biden would be better off choosing a running mate from a battleground state. MA is not a battleground state. Choose someone from MI, FL, WI, or PA.

Some conservatives are saying the death toll is actually less - it doesn't count if you die from a bacterial infection (which was caused by coronavirus wrecking your lungs) or if you had a heart attack and couldn't get care because the ER was filled up with coronavirus patients.

Justin Amash seriously considering run for President. It would likely have to be with the Libertarian Party, as they have ballot access in most every state. Running as an independent would pose hurdles. To all of you boohooing this: Amash would most likely siphon lukewarm Trump supporters moreso than Biden supporters. This would especially help in Michigan, Amash's home state.

If we are worried about how to pay for it, implement a flat tax to fund it. viola! This is essentially what Justin Amash has argued for - give everyone the stimulus regardless of income level, but have people pay it back who can afford to.

This has been the worst day so far for the US in terms of death rate. Over 2100 have died today with many hours remaining. Even when the curve flattens, we can expect many weeks on end with one to two thousand dead per day, based on what we've seen in Italy and Spain - both countries have had essentially 500 dead per day for the last 3 weeks.
