How worried about the election are you?
mclumber1 replied to CastletonSnob's topic in The Political Re-Education Camp
My white male privilege shields me from worrying excessively about this election. I voted for Biden and want him to win. Not because I necessarily support him or his policies, but because this is a referendum on Trump and his ineptitude. -
~Official 2020 Congressional and State Races Thread~

I'm surprised that the DNC and other Democratic groups are not pumping money into Montana. It seems like that Senate race is easily attainable, compared to South Carolina, for instance. -
These are the three companies competing to land humans on the moon: Next year, NASA will down select to two companies, and they will be awarded contracts to land humans in the 2024-2025 timeline. All three companies have ambitious plans, with strengths and weaknesses pointed out in several different articles. But the plan would work like this: The Human Landing System (HLS) would be launched separately (and on commercial rockets) to the moon from the actual humans. The crew would launch from the Space Shuttle derived SLS launcher aboard the Orion capsule (both NASA owned and operated) and meet up in lunar orbit with the lander. The crew would transfer to the lander, perform their mission on the lunar surface, and then return to the SLS capsule in lunar orbit. The lander would stay in lunar orbit, and the capsule would return to Earth.

Those were the rules posted upthread. Each party gets 5 justices. -

This is probably one the best things the Dems could do once they regain power. Also repeal the apportionment act. -

There are a few problems creating a law that says party X gets to appoint 5 justices, and party Y gets to appoint 5 justices: 1. It codifies those two parties into law. That would create a precedent for sure. 2. What happens if one of those parties ceases to exist? Parties have come and gone in the past - but this law would still give power to a party that is extinct or at least crippled. 3. The remaining party in power would have no urgency in rewriting the law giving the new party any power in choosing Supreme Court Justices.
