  1. I hit a wall last night with a big difficulty spike in the area north of the Capital. I guess my 30 vigor/30 endurance should prob be upgraded now. I managed to kill all the bosses I ran into, and damn were they some fun fights, but getting 1 tapped by so many moves meaning i had to be near perfect was stressful.
  2. They can fail at balance while I still make the game as enjoyable as possible for myself by not being so OP the game feels broken. As long as you are aware you are making the game less fun by decisions you are making, then that's fine. You are the one that complained you aren't enjoying the game as much now because of your build. Well then change your build so it feels fun and challenging again.
  3. There's nothing stopping you from respec'ing and not using all your points. From using less powerful, or less leveled up weapons. It's one of the main reasons I've stayed away from every OP thing that's been brought up. I used the Ice Hoard Stomp thing once, saw out stupid powerful it was in clearing a group of enemies, and immediately unequipped it. Tried Bloodhound sword for one fight, and saw how much more effective it was than my leveled up Axe, and immediately unequipped it. I get my fun from these games in the feeling of progression and figuring out the bosses. If I was to become so crazy OP that fights were a joke, it'd definitely take a lot of fun out of it. Any truly open world game like this allows you to get really over leveled depending on how you tackle content if it does no enemy scaling. I still have been enjoying the game a lot and the challenge is still reasonable and exciting during each encounter, even at Lvl 120ish. I've poured all my points into Magic stats to allow me to use weapons since like Lvl 80ish, so a lot of the actual important stats for me aren't really too crazy.
  4. I agree we don't need quest trackers and all that, but maybe a "Journal", that just allows you to read previous dialogue from NPCs. So you can go back in game and re-read hints or directions from quest givers. I don't think that'd take away much from the experience, and would stop people from maybe needing to read up so much online. I'm fine either way though, I've remembered most of the quests, and if need be, will look up what I feel I've missed.
  5. Most of the runes I've lost, is typically me just forgetting to pick them up because I played Sekiro before this and never had to worry about picking up lost souls. Some Legacy Dungeons I've lost big amounts trying to find grace sites and getting overrun, then dying trying to rush back.
  6. And a lot of sections in the open world, where you can fast travel, still space the Grace sites far enough away, where you maybe low on health, and high on runes, and fast traveling back will reset everything. So you are still put in spots where its, do I go back, spend the runes and be safe but reset everything, or push forward and try to find the next Grace site. I think I maybe near the end, but who knows with this game. There are some side quests I need to wrap up, and some areas of the map I haven't figured out how to access yet, not sure if they are gated behind Side Quests. Should be able to wrap things up this weekend though.
  7. I've been streaming my playthrough daily on Twitch. You are more than welcome to come by and ask any questions and I can help as much as I can and explain and show as much as I can. I'm still new to the Souls games in a sense, even though I played through all of them recently. I just haven't done any actual research into builds and how a lot of deeper systems work. I just kinda do what I think sounds good and it's worked out pretty well.
  8. This game just continues to blow me away by its sheer size and scope. Always think I've almost seen it all then you uncover more and more. I still haven't even ventured to the northeast area of the map yet either. I'm around Lvl 110 right now, but my build for the important stats as I'm melee only are. Vigor - 30 Endurance - 30 Strength - 45 Dexterity - 22 No boss has felt gimmicky or too difficult. Some of the smaller enemies out in the open are more difficult for me than the bosses. They do throw a lot of 2/3 v 1 fights as you go on, and those are always tricky in Souls games. The summons does help though. I've been using Stormhawk as my Summon.
  9. I changed up my Talismans on my final attempt that made the fight much easier. I forgot to check my setup before going into the fight, but a few Talismans def helped my survivability.
  10. Got him today in about 20 minutes, not sure how many attempts. Really weird fight though, sometimes he'd be crazy unpredictable with his movement which made it tough to track with the camera. 2nd try I got him down to like 30%, then went on like a 5 loss streak where I couldn't get shit going, then destroyed him final attempt. Did it solo, didn't summon any of the helpers! He actually took a lot of damage and died quick during the 2nd phase. I'm 45 Strength with a +19 Battle Axe though.
  11. By far the most exciting thing out of the State of Play. Would love another reason to revisit this game, it was a blast.
  12. I killed Morgott 1st try today, kinda mistakenly found him. No clue if I'm doing this in the right order, as he's my 3rd Main Boss I've killed. The story has kinda lost me. I knew where I was going through first 2 zones, now I am kinda just moving forward. Still having a ton of fun.
  13. It seems that in Legacy Dungeons, when you die, you lose like 30% of your runes each time. It's only happened in the large main story Dungeons that I've noticed.
  14. Outside of the first zone, I do find there are less actual little caves and "dungeons", but more open world areas that require you to clear them more like a Dungeon or Story area. And I'm pretty sure I've missed a lot in the 2nd and 3rd areas thus far. I was pretty thorough in Liurnia, but still some visable areas I don't know how to get to yet, and some side story stuff I still need to progress. I only just started in Atlus Plateau too, and ran through it a bit too quick so need to start getting more in depth with exploration.
  15. My build kinda sucks cause I just keep putting points into random things so I can remove the X's from Weapons. So I have a bunch of stats at 20-30. Strength is 45.
  16. Same, I largely took the week off last week, but had a lot of AFK time dealing with calls and emails while playing. I am also at like 80-90 hours I believe, Lvl 95
  17. Just compare Poise of the armors, 45 sounds like it'd probably be on the high end. I think I'm in the 20's. I have a pretty large collection of armor, and maxing out my poise with the highest pieces in each slot would get me 51. So I can't imagine it getting much higher than that.
  18. I was finally experimenting with Ash of War's, and found the same thing. Just decimates most regular enemies. I did try it vs one boss and it did like 550 damage or so, which was okay but not better than a few swings of my weapon. I ended up taking it off though for now, as I still prefer other things, but it does absolutely wipe groups of enemies way too effectively.
  19. Bad night for me. FIrst night I've lost a lot of souls due to careless mistakes. Lost batches of 20-30k runes like 5 times tonight..
