I have a weird nit-pick against political ads or news interviews that are shot or edited to look cinematic. I feel like it cheapens the message by trying to make it look and feel more like a movie. This ad being what I think in a 2.35:1 aspect ratio bothers me, the Bolton interview from a few weeks back on ABC was shot 24, that pissed me off too. That said it's a good ad.

Out here in San Diego, rioters burnt down two banks, a grocery store, , and looted and vandalized an area that is full of small businesses. Banks are whatever, but grocery stores have been essential during this pandemic for people to eat and small businesses have been hit hard by this as well. These protests, while largely peaceful, also have a group of people in them that just want to loot and riot and are doing so without any rhyme or reason for the businesses they are looting and burning down. -

Kicking the windshield of a police car while there is an officer in it is a violent act. Some of these protestors are violent and instigating violence. It's naive to think otherwise. -

Fargo Riots I was surprised to see people protesting in Fargo. But from what I've seen on Twitter there are protests everywhere today. Also, the guys jumping on the squad cars and kicking in the windows are pretty stupid. Seems like it kicks off with one bottle thrown and then the bottles start coming in greater number. I can see how this can escalate to tear gas and riot gear. -
Depending on where you live $2M isn't that much money. $2M where I live isn't going to make you rich. Especially if $750k of it is wrapped up in a house that you purchased 30 years ago for $125k. You're also really doing a disservice to professional athletes and others that come from nothing and then make a large amount of money in a short amount of time.

It was a Republican seat for 26 years prior to 2018 when Katie Hill won and flipped it blue. She resigned, last night was the special election to fill the seat for the remainder of her term. So it's hardly a surprise. I think it would be a huge surprise if the seat flips back to the Dems in November and the double digit loss can't be seen as a good thing for that seat in November. There's no way in hell that California is in play, but I don't think a sustained shutdown without some additional stimulus will play well with moderates in this State. It's already too fucking expensive to live here, between this and AB5 I know alot of people pissed off at Democrats at the State Legislature level.

The President walked out of another Press Conference today . He also was unable to back up the hysteria he is creating by retweeting conspiracy theory accounts. All of this is happening in the middle of a global pandemic, but it's this video clip that really makes me feel like we're beyond fucked as a society. This type of buffoonery should have never made it on air. -
My wife actually works in admin at one of the hospitals mentioned in that article. They got a sudden surge two weekends ago and can't pinpoint why. Some think it's the border, others don't know. It's weird how the Southbay is getting hit so hard, but maybe not so weird given how the activity at the border has noticeably picked up in the last couple of weeks. That said, I don't think they are at capacity and hopefully they will never get there.

My wife works in hospital administration in San Diego and they are finally able to do about 800 tests a day. That just happened this week. Currently she tells me that there are 12 covid patients currently at her hospital and another 15 or so PUIs. They aren't getting slammed by it thus far, but the peak isn't expected here for another 3 weeks.

Can confirm. I run a small video production company (0 employees, all owner-operators) and we have had 5 jobs cancelled already. On top of that, I had this realization yesterday that none of our customers are even going to be open to pay us for the work that we've already done and are doing for them.
