  1. I'm so happy this deal is falling through. The last thing we need is the fucking circus back in.
  2. Elon Musk says Twitter deal on hold pending details on fake accounts; shares plunge 19% WWW.CNBC.COM
  3. I just wear Rainbows almost anywhere unless I'm gonna go hiking or something.
  4. It amusing the people outraged about protests outside Justice's homes are the same crowd that wear 1776 shirts.
  5. He's the "classical liberal" aka a generic republican.
  6. Reminds me when I was 12 the old lady freaked out on the corner when I was writing on the sidewalk in chalk.
  7. How do you not understand that there are a ton of kids in shitty home environments with emotional and trust problems?
  8. I agree that a teachers private life should remain private unless there is some context in which it is appropriate. The problem I have is its clear to me that there is a distinction being made by conservatives where discussing LGBT issues is more inapporpriate than heteronormative ones and I think sblfilms and AbsoluteSurgen are intentionally sidestepping that. And I think there is selective enforcement going on so you can argue that talking about her own sexual preferences is inapporpriate and a fireable offence I don't the same would have happened if it were heteronormative. Say the teacher says she thinks Brad Pitt is hot. Would should also have been fired? I don't think so. And I think there would have been a distinction made if she switched Brad for Scarlett Johansson.
  9. Obviously. For one you think conservatives are gonna gonna go "Welp our job is done here! Its an issue we no longer care about". They are going to need something to get their base going and logically the only way to do it is to take it further. Furthermore the whole states rights thing has always been bullshit from the beginning (see Fugitive Slave Act). Just as their championing free speech because of Twitter and Facebook banning hate speech and misinformation. They take whatever postion that is convenient to further their true aims and they can't sell their true aims directly because they know how unpalatable they are to the general public. See conservatives tripping over themselves talking about the leak itself but not wanting to talk about the contents of the leak. They know how unpopular their shit is.
  10. Seperation between church and state is definately on the chopping block. Hope you all love mandated prayer in school cause thats where we are headed.
  11. I think it was being passed around by conservative clerks as jerk off material and the circle got to big.
  12. I'm suprised they straight up overturned it. I figured they would just slowly chip away until its effectively dead in an effort to avoid the firestorm thats sure to come.
  13. I'd also add that its difficult to sell the public on long term goals and plans without an immediate benefit. So its win-win for politicians. They take the easy route, don't have to convince or rally the public to commit to long term and possibly painful measures without seeing benefit for possibly years or decades and they get money and support.
  14. Its the same reason why some corporations only care about next quarter and not the long term outlook. See Boeing. They want money now and they don't care about long term because they got theirs and they can ditch the flaming wreckage with their golden parachutes.
  15. I'm an Athiest in the "If there is a greater power I don't really give a shit" sense. I'll live my life as I see fit and if there happens to be a greater power and they don't like it then Having belief doesn't do anything and if a deity requires you to believe in them for "reasons" then that deity is a moron.
