  1. I've had MSNBC on so much in the background now that it's moved to the 3rd spot in my most watched channel list on YouTube TV.

I'll be honest, I prefer the coverage here by leaps and bounds, but with all the uncertainty, I've just had the channel running in the background to keep myself informed of in case of breaking news popping up.

I was wondering if they could of done something with Starlink internet access points. This will hopefully come through and keep their communications going for the fight and their people.

There's always geo stationary internet too, but it's obviously less ideal than Starlink given its 600+ ping alone isn't going to make for fast access

    Please play this game.

The long-short is: a woman you're with asks you to go find a friend who was with the both of you, and you're stuck in this loop in a city from 2000 years ago and trying to get out. And you don't have to figure it out in any set pattern: the first mission that opened for me ended up being a mission that others didn't get until the very end after they've figured most of everything out. So your progress is entirely up to you where you're not actually stuck doing anything, and you'll utilize the time loop to use items/information from one to complete tasks in the next.

I bought this on PS5, physical copy (which I'm not sure how a team of three was able to make a retail version of this game available, but I'm not complaining!), and got two of the endings, including the canon ending, and I really loved it. It's an "open world," but think of it more like Yakuza, where you can travel through a city. This game's loop relies more on discovery within the city, and finding out characters and motivations through conversation and exploration.

I'm honestly impressed as hell that three fucking people developed this game. Think about how three people can take an engine like Unreal 4 and make a game that looks like this. It's obviously not "best graphics ever!" but the fact that you can have three people make this world is very cool. This is an "indie" game, but it's no different than a "bigger" game on the PS2 or 3.

    Lovely game.

I purchased it when GameStop had it on sale for $15 for the PS5, but haven't started it yet.  Your description is making me think I should probably play it soon.

He was making millions posting his podcasts on YouTube (the video feed) plus the audio being self published everywhere. However, Spotify lagged behind many of its audio competitors in the podcasting game so they went to their warchest to drop $100m on the biggest name. If they drop him both parties will be fine. Unfortunately Rogan will be incredibly resistant to any forms of cancelling.

Exactly this, as vile of a human as Rogan is, he isn't going anywhere.  The best you can really hope for is the bigger names guests will no longer agree to do his show anymore knowing what they know now.

So it’s update time. How is everyone enjoying their Analogue Pocket?! @Rodimus @GameDadGrant @Raggit @Kal-El814 @vaxick

Sending my Pocket to Analogue for repairs.  While my original power issue was fully resolved with the latest firmware update, my right shoulder button has almost no travel on some spots on the button.  Hopefully it'll be all good to go once I get it back.  Waiting a month for a response from their support team wasn't too fun.

  6. Got around to watching it tonight and I came away pretty lukewarm on this one.  The film, at times just felt like a chore to watch, and the story itself just felt like a regurgitation of the prior films.  Nothing about it really felt impactful like the original, and I have to say, the production quality of this film really hurt this film for me. The CGI was laughably bad at times, and some of the scenes reeked of being clearly constructed on a Hollywood lot.  I really feel like some film grain would have benefited this one to hide some of the shortfalls of its set designs.  I wouldn't say I regret seeing it, as there was enough there to prevent me from wanting to turn it off, but I couldn't see myself going out of my way to watch it again.

AYANEO reschedules the introduction of its new gaming console to January 4th, seemingly confirming AMD Rembrandt APU Just a few days ago AyaNeo confirmed it will be showcasing its new console on December 28th. However, this date is no longer on...

I'd buy one if it uses Rembrandt APUs. I think those are supposed to be Zen 3/RDNA2 APUs.

That's my great, many times over uncle.  AMD better be paying me for the use of my uncle's name or else they're gonna learn you don't mess with family.

  8. Played Biomutant for a few hours today.  Having a love/hate relationship with the game.  It's fun, and I love roaming its world, but the missions are just so repetitive that I get burnt out if I play it every day.

Now I'm playing Astral Chain.  Not sure what to think of it yet, the combat has yet to really click for me.  I'm not very far into it though.

YEah, I don't know why I spend so much time looking at Fox News. It's a real problem for me.

I think it stems from my desire to try and understand where the other side is coming from. Their opinions and thoughts are so radically different from mine, and feel so completely and utterly wrong that I feel like I have some sort of obligation to at least understand where they are coming from.

I've seen good people go from, looking at the opposing side to get both angles of a story, to completely being indoctrinated into that side, becoming hate filled individuals in the process.  Some of them are quite smart, but they had an ember burning inside of them from a situation in their life, and the extremism right-wing media pushes ignited it.  It's difficult going from speaking to somebody on a regular basis, to having to be careful to what you say to them knowing the hostility that'll come out if you mention anything with the slightest amount of politics attached to it.

  10. Got my Pocket last week and decided to wait until Christmas to open it.  Mine is a dud unfortunately.  My Pocket does not seem to want to power on constantly.  It's pretty much a 50/50 gamble if the screen will turn on from a cold boot or from sleep mode.  Last attempt I made, all I got was a glowing white light at the bottom of the handheld.  Got the LED light to go dark, hit the power button again, LED lit up again and no display.  Boxed it up after than and have sent an email off to request a replacement.

I wish somebody could test Smashing Drive for the GBA on it.  It's the only game I tested on it and the speakers on it were distorting like crazy.  Would like to know if it's a firmware bug or just my handheld being broke in more than one way.

They're desperate to keep customers.  Threaten to get rid of TV all together and watch how quickly they put a deal together for you. My bill used to be 168, it went up ten bucks or so this year.

I just got tired of the whole dance you've gotta do with cable providers to lower your bill as it'll inevitably start to climb.  I also got tired of all those little fees that really add up from the regional sports fee, to the cable box fees, to the local broadcast fee as well.  The irony of it all is I prefer the cable television format to app based entertainment making me a prime candidate for a cable service, but they did everything they could to drive me away.  I even went to the Comcast store to end my service, simply so I wouldn't have to deal with their call centers.  It feels great having truly unlimited internet for $50 a month now and not having to think about my rates going up.

That 180 includes HBO, Starz, Showtime and TMC in addition to ESPN, Comedy  Central and a bunch of other channels. So my cable is pretty cheap with the deal I negotiated. I have Disney, Paramount and Peacock too as well as pretty much every other streaming service.

Jesus, you must be in one competitive area to negotiate your cable company down to a package deal like that.  Since I live in a Comcast dominated area, I pretty much always got the middle finger when I bartered with them.  I just left them recently though for T-Mobile home internet which has been surprisingly good.  Service is costing me $50 a month and since they have a deal with Google, I get $10 a month off YouTube TV.  I'm getting 6 months of HBO Max free right now along with a free year of Paramount Plus.  Verizon gives me Hulu and Disney Plus.  Not sure what I'll do for streaming apps once the free periods are all over.

I wish scientists would keep their fucking mouths shut about the severity of Omicron until we know for sure what it is. I've hard to argue with mutilple friends that have taken what has been said as "its just the cold now".

I swear for as smart as they are they sure are naive and have learned nothing about the general populous in these two years.

This has been a point of frustration throughout the entire pandemic.  On paper it sounds great for the public to be able to listen in on the scientific process, but in reality, most people take the first thing they've read as the bible and refuse to accept new information as the data evolves.  Information to the public should not be released until it's solidified and agreed upon, as all this confusion does is allow more to disregard the importance of vaccines.  We've basically been doomed since calling covid an old people disease in the beginning.

My dad’s English is actually pretty bad for someone that has lived here for over 50 years. I think he got to a level where he was like “ok I can effectively conduct business here now” and stopped learning after that.

He still says “how you do” when meeting people, for example. I think he thinks he’s saying how do you do, but not really sure lol.

My grandmother had a bad habit of switching from English to Dutch in a conversation without realizing it.  I always got a laugh when my grandfather would yell English at her.
