  1. WiFi on my launch Switch seemed fine.  Siginal strength wasn't nearly as good as my other devices, but it never dropped on me.  Honestly, the only disappointment I had was with the screen.  Blacks just never get that deep on it and colors just don't pop compared to a Vita or phone.

  2. I bought one long ago too for $80.  Can't believe how much they are going for today.  It's a cool little console with a great controller for its era, but arcade style games only have legs so long and it eventually became a display piece.  Once in a while I consider buying some more games for it, but I'm always hesitant to power on given tubes have a finite life.

Saw this and wondering how good it will be?

Since you have to have the physical media would be nice for those of us that have a large game collection already.  Price of the unit will also be a factor.

Watched a recent video of it in action running NeoGeo CD titles and noticed missing shadows in one of the fighting games.  Shadows were also solid instead of having the transparency effect they should have.  Made me a bit weary of how far along the emulation quality is when they felt comfortable releasing a video which such a glaring flaw.

I really want this to be good too because it's the perfect solution for playing old games. I don't buy as many retro games anymore as I once did, but I'd love to pull games from my storage and play them on my TV without having to jump through hoops to make them look good.

At this point, mine has been in operational for 14 years and would be internet vintage. Despite the fact it was stolen from a television programme in the UK that hasn't aired for...12 years.

At this point, you could probably claim squatters rights and own the entire IP.

  5. Be aware if you're sensitive to input lag, those Sony sets are slightly above 30ms.  LG OLED sets are close to 20ms.  Samsung LCD's typically hover around 20ms as well.

Sony is launching new LCD and OLED sets later this year with a new image processor.  Hoping it drops their input lag numbers down as I'd love to get a Sony OLED set over an LG one simply because they have the best image processing in the business.
