I have heard nothing but good things about this from behind the scenes, so while I know the Alien franchise hasn't really been in the best place for decades now (Covenant was so stupid), I have faith that this can finally right the goddamned ship, and Fede Alvarez is going to deliver a solid Alien movie at long, long last.

This is less a revival because someone had a creative, and interesting vision, and more the studio owned the rights and wanted to use them, so they got a writer and director for hire.

Looked fine to me, although there are parts that looked kind of low budget/fan film to me.

I think it was apparent he doesn't GET superhero stuff beyond the aesthetics and action after Watchmen. I mean saying someone "doesn't get it" most of the time just comes off as lazy criticism, and more insulting and snobbish than it is ("you just don't get it, man"), but really Snyder DOESN'T GET IT. He really does not understand the characters and themes his playing around with. He'd probably do fine with something that is just surface level, and isn't too deep. Like Spawn.
