His popular manga inspired numerous television, film and video game adaptations, reaching fans far beyond Japan’s borders.

I have never watched Dragon Ball or much of his anime stuff, but I absolutely adore the Dragon Quest series and his art is a massive part of that. It's such a striking style and so visually appealing to my eyes.

It belongs here anyway. No biggie.

True... he designed characters for some amazing games like Dragon Quest and Chrono Trigger. I always loved his art and I remember reading about the DBZ games in old issues of Game Informer before being old enough to go to NYC by myself to buy DBZ bootlegs on VHS YEARS before the series was officially released in the states. Me, my younger brother and sister were hooked. By the time the series was released in the states, my liltle brother had seen all of the major arcs and OVA movies and we were starting DB GT... that's were I stopped. COuld never get into Goku becoming a kid again. Anywho... R.I.P. Akira Toriyama... gone too soon but you were a great.
