So Darkstalkers Collection + others, I’ll get it on Switch for sure. I was just playing the SF collection there when this news came out actually and damnit I was thinking how sad it is that the best version of Alpha 3, the psp one, isn’t available on Switch. Idk if ps4/5 plays it but I think maybe they do since vita did but anyway this could have been a really good opportunity to include that and Alpha 2 Gold with my double air fireball Akuma. :(

Also was surprised you can still get an easy online match going on the switch 30th collection.

Edit: Ohhh missed Red Earth getting its first home port, I never bothered to emulate that even and have always wanted to check it out so that’s very cool.

Awesome, Darkstalkers finally! Yet at the same time ***k off capcom. This should be DLC for the Capcom Arcade Stadium.

I’m torrrrrrn on this. I’ve always liked Capcom collections as they usually have good unlocks and art collections and sometimes history and stuff. I love all that stuff rather than just only a collection of games. But also since psp Remix they have gone down quite a bit with how many games you get, and it makes sense for it to be CAS dlc. And having one location with Capcom’s arcade history on Switch would be amazing (especially if they could work out their licensed games at double the price point or something for those).

Im also only interested in CAS if they show commitment with adding stuff and yeah this just shows they don’t. I got the beat ‘em up bundle instead of the dlc because that was on sale and ended up being cheaper and was a large chunk of what I wanted. I wish the collections just gave you entitlements to CAS for those games, that would make it perfect.

I personally enjoy CAS the most because games that haven't been in collections for a while are in it. I know there is an upside to this packaged release over CAS being that it will get a physical release but as an arcade fan I find it annoying I have to jump between CAS, SF Collection, Beat-em-ups collection and now this. I would just prefer it all in CAS instead. =/

Yeah these games should all be DLC, but whatevs. I'm still buying them!

I actually have an arcade unit with all these Darkstalkers games on them. Some of them, anyway. But still picking up the collection because of that sweet, sweet online play. :D

Nice, I will get the collection even though I'm a little annoyed. I also use to own Darkstalkers and Vampire Savior CPS2 carts long long ago to play on my arcade cabinet. I only got rid of them because I didn't want to have to worry about boards committing suicide due to a dead battery. This was in the age before Pheonix Boards became a reality. If my Capcom Impress was in better shape and not sitting in storage I would probably buy them again.

Once again, Capcom has given us a collection of great quality. The Capcom Fighting Collection is everything fighting game fans have been waiting for.

The Capcom Fighting Collection is a reminder of a time when Capcom was the king of making fighting games. It’s great to finally have the opportunity to enjoy the entire Darkstalkers franchise. It would be a damn shame if Capcom didn’t follow this release up with a brand new Darkstalkers installment. While I would have preferred updated visuals, the gameplay for the most part still holds up today. I hope Capcom adds the ability to quick save in each game individually, as opposed to a shared quick save among all 10 games. While this collection only features a small fraction of the fighting games Capcom has released, it’s still a worthy release and I imagine most fighting fans will want to add it to their collection.

Capcom Fighting Collection is an enjoyable batch of 10 classic games, some of which are more well known than others. It’s the more obscure titles that truly make it shine, which is why it’s a slight bummer the game doesn’t present them in a nicer way.

Whether you’re a fighting game fan who remembers some of these classics from yesteryear, or someone new to the genre who’s open to digging into some past treasures, Capcom Fighting Collection is well worth picking up. Sure, it’s fairly Darkstalkers-heavy, and the lack of cross-platform play is unfortunate, but the hours of fun that can be had from this collection far outweigh such disappointments. Capcom has once again plundered its extensive back catalogue and come up with the goods.

This fighting game compilation is a great window to the past--even though the view is full of monsters.

Capcom Fighting Collection is a fine collection of titles, with only one real clunker – yet even that is worth a blast just to see something different.

Capcom Fighting Collection is essential for fans of '90s tournament fighters, particularly of Darkstalkers. That being said, the curated ten games feels like light packaging.

Hey Poor Player - Andrew Thornton - 4.5 / 5

Capcom Fighting Collection is a must-own for Darkstalkers fans, but even those who aren’t in love with the series should consider it. There’s enough variety in titles, interesting games which could use more exposure, beloved classics which hold up, to keep players busy for a long time. Add in excellent supplemental materials and killer online play and it stands among the best fighting game collections ever released.

IGN - Ronny Barrier - 8 / 10

Capcom Fighting Collection contains some great classics and fun rarities in a fantastic package. Despite containing a few suspect omissions and lacking crossplay, this is a collection worth collecting.

Metro GameCentral - Scott McCrae - 8 / 10

A good quality compilation of some of Capcom's more overlooked fighting games, although there are a few filler titles and some unfortunate omissions.

MonsterVine - Spencer Legacy - 4.5 / 5

The Capcom Fighting Collection is a strong grouping of Capcom’s smaller fighters. Red Earth and Cyberbots alone make this a very neat collection, but the entire package is truly worthwhile. Fighting fans of all stripes will find something to enjoy here, though Darkstalkers fans will be especially happy.

While Capcom Fighting Collection costs $39.99, this is a great assortment of games that you can play offline or online with friends. Sharing experiences from playing through the RPG-like fighter of Red Earth that was only in Japanese arcades before now is something that will add more to the conversation. Everything is nostalgic but it doesn’t try to believe in something that’s not there, and that’s why we definitely recommend adding Capcom Fighting Collection to your library.

Capcom Fighting Collection does exactly what it sets out to do, and bar a few very minor presentational oversights, is a product with years of longevity. It's a shame to lose those bonus characters present in previous console releases, and you do need to consider what appeals to you when considering a purchase. If you want the best Darkstalkers collection, look no further. If you want to experience Red Earth and take it online, the time has finally arrived. Or, for Street Fighter II diehards, Anniversary Edition's modernised netcode really lets you be a world warrior.Bar Red Earth, however, this isn't the first time these games have been released, and it surely won't be the last. A purchasing decision comes down to how many times you have bought these titles before, how much time you spend on MAME (which has been a viable, albeit illegal, option for years) or whether or not you just want the most polished, accurate, easy-access fighting game experience to date, either at home on your TV or portably on the go. If you fall into the latter category, it's a no-brainer.

PSX Brasil - Ivan Nikolai Barkow Castilho - Portuguese - 75 / 100

Capcom Fighting Collection is a good collection of fighting games, offering a little bit of everything. It's pretty basic, offering what you'd expect and nothing more. It is more aimed at fans of Darkstalkers or those who want to know games like Red Earth. The simultaneous matchmaking for more than one online game deserves praise, however. The launch price, on the other hand, can be an issue.

PlayStation Universe - John-Paul Jones - 8.5 / 10

With superb emulation, a range of remixed soundtracks, beautifully optimised Rollback netcode for all titles and a smattering of museum extras such as special illustrations and more, Capcom Fighting Collection really does feel like a labour of love that boasts a degree of value that's impossible to deny. Honestly, just for Red Earth alone, Capcom Fighting Collection is worth the money but look beyond that and you'll find a treasure trove of rarefied two-dimensional fighting goodness.

Prima Games - Lucas White - 7.5 / 10

The Sickos need love every now and then. Capcom Fighting Collection is a weird, wonderful compilation that never would’ve existed ten years ago. And at the very least for the broader fighter audience, Red Earth is cool as hell and arguably worth the price of admission by itself.

Push Square - Stuart Gipp - 9 / 10

Taking a look at Capcom Fighting Collection, it's very clear that it does exactly what it set out to do – you've got superb versions of ten arcade classics here, several of which are significantly difficult to play elsewhere. The online play works beautifully, with efficient menus letting you switch games in the lobby. And that online is really all that matters in the end. Can you play Hyper Street Fighter II online with no lag? Yes. Then it's more or less perfect, isn't it?

Shacknews - TJ Denzer - 8 / 10

I never thought we’d see love for Darkstalkers again outside of something like another Vs. Capcom game. Not only am I happy to have been wrong, but I’m glad it came in such generally high quality as Capcom has given us here in the Capcom Fighting Collection. More than that, having Red Earth, Cyberbots, and Super Puzzle Fighter alongside options like training modes, one-button specials, and other quality-of-life features is just excellent. I lament the lack of crossplay, and some might not be fond of the arcade-hard mentality of some of these games. Still, Capcom Fighting Collection is a delicious buffet of classic fighting goodness that plays quite well across the board.

The Games Machine - Daniele Cucchiarelli - Italian - 8.7 / 10

A quality fighting games collection with some of Capcom's best beat 'em ups, including Red Earth (which makes its debut on PCs and consoles!), the complete Darkstalkers saga and lots of customization options

The Outerhaven Productions - Karl Smart - 3 / 5

Capcom Fighting Collection brings us a good batch of arcade-perfect ports that are themed into a package that is great if you just want those specific titles to play at all times, but with 6 of them appearing in Capcom Arcade Stadium 2, and one already in Capcom Arcade Stadium, Capcom Fighting Collection comes off as a quick cash grab that really should have been pushed out as another DLC pack for either Capcom Arcade Stadium release. Your mileage is going to vary on how desperately you want 3 games that haven't seen a release since the 1990s… and by the looks of it, will never see a release again.

TheSixthAxis - Nick Petrasiti - 8 / 10

Capcom Fighting Collection plugs the gaps left in everyone's fighting game collection, sans Rival Schools of course. With lots of customisation available for how you play, ten excellent ports and a loaded museum, you'd be remiss to miss out on this excellent piece of history.

VGChartz - Evan Norris - Unscored

With ten games, online lobbies, multiple achievements, and many opportunities to master your fighting technique, there should be plenty here to keep you busy while you wait for some enterprising Capcom executive to green light Red Earth 2.

Video Chums - A.J. Maciejewski - 7.5 / 10

Capcom Fighting Collection features a solid collection of games; particularly, when it comes to Darkstalkers. That's actually its main issue because it could use a lot more variety but considering the package is as fun and sleek as it is, I still recommend giving it a go.

Wccftech - Francesco De Meo - 7 / 10

Quote

The Capcom Fighting Collection is a nostalgic trip through fighting game history enriched with new features like online multiplayer and an extensive Museum Mode that breathe new life into these all-time classics. The lack of cross-platform play and the extremely limited single-player modes, however, do damage the experience, making the collection a game a worthy purchase only for those who live and breathe fighting games.

XboxEra - Genghis Husameddin - 8 / 10

Besides being a darn good collection, it all comes down to whether or not you’re interested in the games. For fans of Darkstalkers and Capcom’s fighters in general, the improvements and first-time ports are worth it, plus the museum has some nice goodies like concept art and design documents.

Ugg I'm weak. I really want these games in Capcom Arcade 2 but that is a month off, so I caved to buy but I wanted physical and amazon.ca doesn't have it, so I bought it digitally knowing fully well i'll probably buy this physically and will rebuy some of the games in Cap Arcade 2 next month. =/

¯\_(ツ)_/¯ Hey at least the menu music was totally worth it. Probably capcom's best compilation this gen.

I'm playing this on the switch BTW.

Red Earth is one of those games that I wish I picked up back when I had a CPS3 ages ago to play on my arcade cabinet. I feel like I would have gotten into the game like crazy. Speaking of CPS3 fighters, it's a shame we probably won't ever see the two JoJo games released. I thought they were decent games but I don't think there is enough fervour or interest to push capcom into getting the license from namco to re-release them. I remember having them because they were pretty cheap to get in the era of 3rd Strike.

ATM my nostalgia goggles have me playing a lot of Darkstalkers (1) and Pocket Fighter because I use to have the CPS2 carts for those and played a ton of them. <3
