Yeah I don’t get not wanting it to be about Joel and Ellie. The world of TLoU is generic as fuck. The STORY and the CHARACTERS of that first game is what makes it stand out as an all time great. Those are what’s worth adapting.

What are you thinking of? I don’t remember to much standing out as being a product of it’s time/unacceptable by today’s standards

It’s a little surprising since Netflix is pretty notorious for not renewing series till after the most recent series has aired

Same. I mean you could do a show where a Witcher is defeating cool monsters from a fairy tell setting each week and be on par with He Man Revelations. That would be kid friendly and certainly wouldn’t suck.

I still can’t believe the internet continues to bitch about castings after completely and utterly embarrassing itself with the Heath Ledger/Joker casting. 

Watched the first episode. I didn’t read the books so I have nothing to compare it to. I liked it. The world is beautiful and interesting enough that I want to keep watching to learn more about it. The time jump is intriguing but isnt confusing yet, which is nice. Mostly well acted so far. First episode did it’s job and I’m curious/excited to see where it goes next. 

I agree with @Xbob42 I was just having an ok time with the game until I decided “fuck it im gonna go guns blazing into everywhere” having a blast now

Obviously it won't be necessary to watch them all because most of them aren't included in the new canon, but I really enjoy going through entire franchises I'm not fully familiar with. And this one should be interesting because the canon keeps changing and getting reset along the way.

Honestly I enjoy all of them except maybe VI. But that one has Paul Rudd so it’s kinda a wash haha. H20 is very 90’s but I like it a lot.

Id do both at the same time. Listen to a chapter on Audible, then read the chapter in the book. Or if you’ve got the time and set up, listen while reading. Not a ton of the actual dialogue has changed and the audio adds a ton of narration the goes really really well with the illustrations and wordless panels. 

Started it, got through chapter one. Still incredible. This honestly blows away any other form of media I’ve experienced this year

I never understood the hate for the N64 controller. My beautiful gorgeous gold one still works to this day. 

I have no idea what this story is but I look forward to finding next year on the Netflix doc.
