Stop demonizing Trump supporters.
finaljedi replied to Fizzzzle's topic in The Political Re-Education Camp
I don't know, I know a few people who voted for Trump in 2016 who didn't in 2020. I feel like people who voted for him this year did it with both eyes open for the kind of President he is and I can't think of an excuse this time around. In 2016 he was the non-politician disrupter who said he could fix things with a different approach, and that was appealing for a lot of people, it was dumb, but I can see where it could convince people to give him a shot. Now there's no real excuse, unless you're a single issue pro-life voter I guess. -
Ohio has told the counties to form their own COVID defense teams and a while back they started a color rating system for counties from yellow to purple. DeWine has said there won't be any new orders from the state if a county reaches purple, the mask mandate we're under is unenforceable and I've seen more and more people at the store lately not even bother. This state closed businesses and told people to stay in if they weren't getting supplies when the cases were 300 a day, we had 3800 more today so...

Trump will run in 2024

I don't think the Trump damage is quickly reversible. They made Bush a persona non grata for years, but Bush didn't have people flying Bush flags and jamming up traffic by the thousands or militia groups plotting to kidnap his opponents across the country. -
Yeah, funny, hadn't gone on a date at all in about 3 years. Sent a message on OK Cupid to this lady who likes a lot of the same stuff that spoke to that, but then mentioned because she liked pineapple on pizza that there's no way this would ever work. Got food a few times and took it to the park and kept it going, it's been slow and weird with COVID, but I don't have anything else to do but log into work, watch streaming shit, and play video games so might as well stick with it.

I voted early yesterday, waited in line for 20 minutes at 10am on a Wednesday in a heavily Republican county that’s not terribly populated. In 2016 I didn’t wait at all to early vote. There were also Biden people working the line, I’ve never seen a Democrat outside a polling place once in Warren County, OH.

Senate confirms Justice Handmaid One

I get tired of people bitching about ageism. At some point you really shouldn't have a ton of responsibility over other people. After 65 or 70 you've definitely lost a step and are probably having a hard time keeping up with today, and I really think there needs to be an age cap of 70 for all government positions, elected or not. -

It still applies to the state where the person resides or the claim is filed. BCBS plans are already sold across state lines. Like if you work for Walmart you’ll have a BCBSAR plan no matter what state you’re in and the provider file with the local BCBS plan and it gets transmitted to whatever plan company you hold. But that’s because the BCBS Association set up that whole plan to plan infrastructure. I just think it’s a “solution” that will just lead us back to shitty useless health plans. -

I worked in health insurance for a few years and that shit is mostly regulated at the state level and it can vary pretty wildly from state to state in just the areas I worked in. I've always wondered what selling across state lines really meant from a regulatory perspective. Is it incredibly strict like California or some anything goes shit like a good chunk of the midwest.
