I feel like the other candidates mental capacity being questioned has probably been something that's been done since elections have existed in democracies going way back. But now 77% of Trump voters believe he was cheated apparently with the current right wing media nurturing that narrative, that's kicking it up a notch a little past the mudslinging of old.

Things have shifted a little more since then, conspiracy theory has gotten more mainstream and dog whistles are just kind of whistles now.

With how this year is shaking out I feel like we'll get nostalgic for the halcyon days of moderate even headed voices from right wing news like Tucker Carlson and Laura Ingraham.

Bad news if you want government to bail anything out, the Legislative Branch has the week off and even if they didn't McConnell and the Republicans seem to be holding the line on "skinny" stimulus.

The hick Sheriff one county over from me said he wasn't about to enforce our Republican governor's mask mandate if they ever gave it teeth. I've included a picture of the sheriff for reference.

People are social and Zoom happy hours are still you drinking alone staring at a screen. I'm relatively introverted, but working from home and not really seeing people has definitely taken a toll...

I don't know about other states. But here in Ohio we had more strict occupancy limits before that helped along with the masks, they relaxed that, all that's left now is the bars close at 10 and we're racking up 5,000 new cases a day the past week. I'd also say anecdotally that around 1/4 of the people I see at the store these days aren't masking up. But apparently none of that matters because from what I understand a significant source of the spread are small social gatherings at people's homes and I don't think there's anything you can do about that at this point.
