What possible justification is there for this to be more expensive on console than PC?  I mean the argument that costs have come up so we have to charge more... except they are still going to charge less for PC.

One of the things I read from a developer recently said something along the lines of - games of this size are never finished... they just eventually get released.

I'm not sure that delaying this game another 6 months would prevent them from having a rush to finish up their current bug fixes immediately before release.  From my understanding the game is done but they are trying to polish like crazy.  And that could be a never ending push for perfection.  

The forced overtime sucks for them.  Hopefully they actually get fat profit sharing checks.  Sometimes it is better to not know how the sausage is made.

Yeah me either.  But who knows... this could have been a classroom project or a resume item for someone.  Or people that just really love tinkering with video software.  I have to do some video editing for my job and it can be kind of fun.  But someone with a lot more talent and better tools than me put that together.

EDIT: I just clicked into the profile of the video and yep - the person who made this did it looking for a job.

This is a fan made ad for gamepass. I normally don't pay much attention to these things, but this one is amazingly well done.

The existence of these consoles are not last min decisions, they've been in the planning for a while.

I'm not sure they will discontinue it. It is the one people want. Plus as manufacturers costs fall it will come into line of being profitable. Also Sony makes more money on the back end if people are all digital. 

They will definitely discontinue these monsters once they can make them smaller!

I got the XSX. 

I plan on starting with gears 5 and doom eternal. I'll probably pick up Valhalla. I might hold on to cyberpunk and wait to play it after it gets the upgrade.

I understand not everyone plays everything, but everyone has played Skyrim at some point, Fallout isn't what it used to be but most have fond memories of New Vegas, Doom 2016 was one of the best FPS games of this gen, the Wolfenstein games have been good, Prey was a gem, Dishonored is a great series and I believe is one of our glorious leaders @Emperor Diocletian II favorites, Evil Within was generally well received. 

 

There's a lot of stuff in there to be excited about going forward. Shit I'm excited that maybe Obsidian and InXile can help out with Fallout 5 and return it to it's former glory. 

 

Did you play Ruiner yet? I need someone to talk about the ending with. This has nothing to do with this thread, I think it was on PS4 too. 

I would love to see InXile help on Fallout.  Wasteland 3 was the best fallout game since NewVegas!

The Xbox One was almost a year late.

Consoles might be harder to get this time around since they're pushing for a worldwide release. Last time they delayed the Xbox One in japan for a few months.

I guess this time MS wants to ship all the units Japan will need for the console's lifetime at launch.  

I'm not sure the 15 xboxes they would need to allocate for Japan will make much of a dent.
