  1. Bush v Gore had timeline ramifications too. The state effectively couldn't do another set of recounts and certify the vote afterwards, because the meeting of the electors was just a few days later from what I remember. Without a certified vote, there are no electors at all for Florida. This would have been in Gore's favor though. Gore would have won the EC 266 to 246., as the new threshold would be 257.
  2. This is a win for consumers. And for people who want a $15 ride from SNA to Disneyland.
  3. An Attorney General appointed by Biden would be free to investigate fuckery from the Trump years. Also, states will be unbound from the Trump's presidency shield, and can move forward with criminal and civil investigations. That of course doesn't solve Trumpism - even the Nuremburg trials didn't end Nazism, after all.
  4. It means that the President doesn't have a clear, direct, legal path to stop/overturn/etc. a state's vote count. He has to get the Supreme Court (or lower courts maybe) to review their claim and then decide if their case has merit.
  5. I've heard it (or I guess read it) for over a year now, as it's the preferred nomenclature in work emails that have to do with diversity and whatnot.
  6. I would not be surprised if a lot of latino voters voted republican this year on the sole basis of the whole "latinx" vomit being crammed down America's throat.
  7. No idea. Faithless electors are very rare. One of the reasons why there were so many in the last election is because both candidates were viewed pretty negatively, even by the electors that were supposed to vote for them.
  8. Even if all of Trump's legal challenges are denied/fail, and Biden makes it to 270 EVs, Biden is not guaranteed to win the EC in December. A single faithless elector on Biden's side would cause a no-winner scenario.
  9. Trump's real legal team is actually sending Rudy to Philadelphia Mississippi. They cannot afford to have Rudy mess up PA.
  10. I wonder if we'll have more states approve of the National Popular Vote Compact over the next four years? Status of National Popular Vote Bill in Each State WWW.NATIONALPOPULARVOTE.COM Alaska Alabama Arkansas Arizona California Colorado Connecticut DC Delaware Florida Georgia Hawaii Iowa Idaho Illinois Indiana Kansas Kentucky Louisiana Massachusetts Maryland Maine Michigan
  11. It'll be ironic if the GOP talking point over the next four years is: Biden won the election based on the votes of 80,000 people in a few states. #notmypresident
  12. It could be that they are waiting on remaining mail in ballots to arrive and get processed. State law says that if it's postmarked by the 3rd, it will be counted if it arrives by the 10th.
