    The Woo-iness of 2 is all well and good. I think the worst part of MI2 by a longshot is the overreaction to the first movie where people seemed to not be able to follow who was a traitor, who wasn’t, etc. MI2 corrects for this to an absurd degree and explains the plot aloud what feels like three dozen times.

    There’s a weird subset of people who watch Midsommar and seems to think it’s some kind of women empowerment movie based on the end, which is a wild fucking take. I also didn’t know there was a director’s cut, but I don’t feel that the movie needed to explain anything beyond what was in the original cut. Hmm.

    Single entrance schools are fine, I guess. But as someone who used to do liquor delivery to city buildings with tighter security than most high schools within a couple years of 9/11, and knowing someone who did radio / networking installation in buildings that housed city / state police within the last year... a little knowledge of a building and a little social engineering can get you in anywhere equipped with whatever you want.

    I know it’s a pipe dream but it’s the only thing that’s going to move the needle. Children get butchered and we do nothing. We insistent on officers in schools, which does nothing. Officers were engaged before this motherfucker got inside, and it didn’t matter. The only things that will matter will be stopping the sale of guns, and getting guns out of the hands of Americans and destroying them. Everything else is putting a bandaid on a necrotic limb and hoping it gets better.

    Even if we could snap that into existence today, it’s not going to matter as much as people think. It just won’t. Armed guards, garden variety cops, teachers with guns, etc., still have families. It’s not reasonable to expect them to run towards an active shooter, we have enough evidence to know this at this point. A lot of these murderers use AR15s. I shot enough of them to know that even with no training it’s not all that hard to be accurate from a range where a couple armed security guards could get shot easily and not know it was coming. Abolish the second amendment. Mandatory gun buybacks. This is the only way.
