To those who have been playing a lot already, are you mouse and keyboard or controller?

I've played both, but I've always preferred Bethesda games with m/kb just because you have to aim at every little object to pick them up and see what they are, and its just way easier to me with mouse.    I did use controller on Xbox a little and it seeemd to play fine that way as well.  Just a preference thing.

  2. I can understand some of the nit picks.

My biggest issue are the maps on the planets/cities, and no land vehicles.  They ask you to travel relatively far at times on planet, and seems allowing some form of vehicle would have been a cool addition, espeically if you could customize it a bit like the Ships.  Maybe it'll come in the future.

Other than that I adore the game so far.  I love big sandbox style games that give you the freedom to make your own stories and craft your own experiences.  And thus far this game is just really delivering.  Exploring the cities has been a lot of fun as I've into some charactrs that have given me some reall fun side quests that could have easily been missed.

Also randomly traveled to some star systems, and picked up an SoS call that pulled me into another side mission that turned out to be fun that I couldve easily never experienced.

I'm probably 10-15 hours in, Lvl 9 or 10, but its just been exactly what I'd expect.

I feel like people knocking it for not being a No Mans Sky game level of exploration in terms of flying around space and landing on planets are creating some new requirement for a game that they dont do for others.  Every game has tons of limitations, they need to.  Just because its a space game doesnt mean it has to do everything every other space game ever made has done. It's a Bethesda game set in space, and thsu far, I think they've pulled it off pretty well.

So now, to play the games you already bought online:

$120 a year on Xbox consoles

$80 a year on PlayStation consoles

$20 a year on Nintendo platforms

$0 a year on Steam Deck

    $0 a year on PC

$0 a year on mobile*   (*possibly mtx ridden)

We're going to see Nintendo hike next.

Where are you getting these figures.  You can still get a yearly Xbox multiplayer gaming sub for $60.

I’ve heard that each area has 4 possible configurations they can roll. I don’t know if that means each area has at least 4 unique events or bosses requiring you to eventually roll each configuration of each area at least once.

Waiting for my co-op buddy to be available ive been rerunning the adventure mode of the first zone we had, and ive had pretty unique experiences 3 different times.  Same final boss though and I know there was at least a 2nd main boss for this zone.

  5. As @Xbob42said, thr healer isnt meant to be a fix for bad gameplay.

You should be avoiding the majority of damage in this game by dodging.

The healing circle lasts awhile, so coop there's no reason one character can't aggro enemies or a boss away from it to let coop partners heal.  It also heals pretty quickly so you only need to stand in it for a few seconds to get a decent chunk back.

I've personally been using the Shield Shout.  Basically when my coop buddy or I gets stuck in a bad situation, or takes a few hits and is close to being downed, I pop it so we can recover and pop a Dragon Heart.  Or when I need to revive my teammate I'll pop it for overshield and not to get staggered so you can get the revive off.  Or sometimes when an enemy grabs your friend and gets into one of those animations you can save them.  It's meant to stop your friend from getting knocked which can be very difficult to get a revive off mid boss fight.

I put all my Trait points into Skill Cooldown time right away do I'm -20% Cooldown Timer.  I also chose the healing mod to start with and that thing does a lot of good healing too.

I'm never a big fan of LMGs so went to the Hunting Rifle.  I just hate really long reload times.

I've been really enjoying the Medic so far and have felt like it's extremely useful so far.

The sound of the "elite" types are obvious. That's not what I'm whining about. I'm whining about the general movement sounds of your average everyday mobs and their ability to walk up to you without any audio queue. Especially when you're fighting something bigger that takes a lot of damage to defeat. It's an easy enough problem to solve in the game as it is (Just retreat a bit and they'll funnel themselves into a choke point).

There is that other audio que that pops up, kind of like the Big Enemy one when the games will spawn enemies anywhere, even behind you.  Generally this game is about clearing your corners and behind you so you know you're safe from behind.  But when you hear that other audio que that is added for this game, you know enemies can possibly be spawned behind you, and to now be more aware and check 360 around you.

Generally i think the audios good in this game, but some enemies can sneak up on you for sure, but I think it's by design as well.  The human type enemies will typically be vocal to give away their position when coming at you but certain other monster types may not be as obvious.

  7. I started it, played with a buddy, look up and 5 hours passed by.

Absolutely loving it so far.  Started on Veteran, and it's felt good.  Bosses are a bit tanky so far, but haven't really upgraded any weapons yet.

Went with Medic, and I've been enjoying it.  Definitely feels like an upgrade in every aspect, and a more fleshed out RPG type experience.

We killed 1 mini boss, but got stuck on our second.

The levels seem far more open ended in this game too, we just kept exploring and it brought us to all types of weird places.

    Can't wait to continue.

  8. In an already stacked year, I fully expect this to be up there as one of my GotY contenders.  Loved the first game.  Good challenge, cool loot system.

The idea of randomly generating each world and which bosses you run into was clever.  If you played solo, you missed so much of the game if you didn't go back and reroll worlds.

I played solo, then ran it co-op as well, and got so many extra useful weapons and items by doing it co-op.  Was a game changer.

Everything is pointing this to be a step up in most everyway, so hyped.

I hate level scaling in games. Why level?

It works really really well for open world and for co-op.  You can jump in with just about any friend and it just always works.

Otherwise you have to worry a lot about whos what level ect.

I agree to some extent about the leveling, but you can still make yourself feel extremely powerful through your build and gear.  The enemies may always be your level, but will not scale to your power level if you make the right build and get the right gear.

I’m 99% certain @Commissar SFLUFAN posted an update that said they will be added post-launch.

I didn't watch the actual pre launch interviews or Live Broadcasts, but read this.  Things may have changed but it seemed to be more of a core design decision not to have them.

The topic was customization, both cosmetic and in terms of builds, which joins the recently released over-arching video on the topic that Blizzard just put out yesterday I asked a few different questions that were on my mind, and Adam had a good answer about the costs of respecing a character.

  11. I finished the main campaign last night.  I just ran straight through all the main story quests, as I had been told you were capped at Lvl 50 in World Tier 2, and couldn't do World Tier 3 til you finished the campaign.

That was incorrect as I'm now Lvl 51 in World Tier 2.

My build was a bit rough for awhile as most Legendary's I got werent' for skills I used.  But suddenly I got like 4 Legendary drops in a row that all synergized with my build and then I become almost unstoppable.  Didn't die once the entire Act 5 and 6 I think, even though there were definitely some tough fights in there.

Now I need to do the Capstone Dungeon to unlock WT3 I believe.
