try the other world states and it won't be sop easy.

This really depends on what class you picked.  From my experience playing all 5 classes.

    Easiest to hardest

1 - Necro makes the game easy mode.  It's laughably easy early level and throughout most of this Beta area.

2 - Sorceress also makes the game much easier.

3 - Rogue - Will probably have a higher skill ceiling but thanks to its range abilities, def a bit easier to manage.

4 - Druid - I felt the Druid felt a bit underwhelming up until Lvl 15ish then they started to shine a bit more.

5 - Barbarian - The devs already came out and said Barbarian is balanced to be more powerful later in the game and won't feel as powerful as the other classes early on.

Playing as a Barbarian first, I felt the game was very difficult for most of last weekend.  Then I tried Sorceress and it was a completely different experience.

I just hope the entire game is balanced to feel more difficult.  One of my biggest complaints for Diablo 3 was the first playthrough was way way too easy that build and loot didn't matter at all.

Yeah watching Jeff Gerstmann's video, he was also a Barbarian and had the same complaint but I had the same thoughts as you. Obviously it's a base thing once you upgrade or get higher level then your dodges are going to be as crazy as Hades or something.

Yeah I got it with my Barbarian.  Maybe class specific, since the Melee class is by far the most difficult based off what I've seen.

  3. I was so into this game, but hit a brick wall and fell off it hard.  Not sure how many total hours I have into it, but my Collection I think is maybe 75-80%.  I must be fairly close to the end, but am finding it hard to turn back on to play.  I think its the lack of a feeling of progression really.

Even though there are different spells, they don't feel drastically different.  All enemies from the start of the game to now feel basically the same in combat encounters.

I still plan to finish it, but I was surprised at just how fast and hard I fell off this.

and they promised the only mtx in Diablo would be cosmetic. I don’t give a shit about that, I don’t care what my character looks like whatsoever.

Oh I always cared about the cosmetic appearance of your character as you progress.  It always felt as part of the progression system for me.  As you get more powerful you get cooler looking gear.   When you'd play with other people seeing some of the cool stuff they had was ways fun.

It's by far my most anticipated game this year. Followed by D4 and then Zelda/Starfield.

I really don't believe Zelda is going to be anything special though. I hope i'm wrong, but BotW was a shock in a way this just can't possibly be, and people have hyped it up far more than the original pre-release.

I don't know, I think Zelda is far more anticipated than a new FF, but like I said, I haven't played one in a long time.

If this newer game is Zelda BotW with some more traiditional dungeons and improvements, then it'll be up there as another generational game for me.  I loved BotW exploration and world.  The ending fell off a bit for me after getting a bit burnt out, but I still can't want to learn more about it.

Diablo 4 I'm cautiously optimistic about.  I'm afraid MTX may ruin it, and I hate MTX in loot games like that where all the coolest gear is just bought for in the store.  I hate when a Lvl 1 crap character can look as cool as high end game characters cause they bought some cool looking shit.  Blizzard will have to prove they can pull it off, but I anticipate it being like an isometric Elden Ring type world to explore, so I'm really hyped for that.

  6. September is a perfect window.  June would have been horrible with Zelda coming out late May, and then Diablo 4 early June.  Those are both massive games that will take 100+ hours each probably.

Anyone that gets pissy about delays is laughable to me.  If it didn't need to delay, it wouldn't be delayed.  You lose nothing having it be delayed.  All it means is we won't get release dates until games are only a few months away, which is how it probably should be.  The 12 month thing in theory is fine, it shows you what they have coming up within their next year timeframe, but everyone knows with games, delays are likely to happen.  Unless Forza drops to 2024, it still did its job of showing Xbox's roughly next years plans.

  7.  I've always felt you do a game a disservice by not at least attempting to play at a higher difficulty level.  So many games are just simply completely different experiences playing when the game is offering more of a challenge.

That being said, I also don't care if more difficulty options are added to games to make them more manageable for those struggling.

The only time people playing on easier difficulties sometimes irck me, is when reviewers play on easier difficulties, then judge the game based off how it plays on those difficulties.  Don't think its totally fair to the devs to judge a game and not really interacting with a large portion of game mechanics because it's not required to do so on easy.

  8. The post was framed as a recruitment post.

The subtitle below the A New Adventure Begins is... "Join the party and help us realize our vision for a bold new online fantasy RPG."

And it concludes with -  "This is just the start of our journey into this new world we are making. We hope you sense the warmth, the danger, the togetherness, and the heart we put into it… And if you do, we would be honored if you join us."

Leading to a Link to their careers page and Meet us at GDC.  So gearing up for full development I'm sure and hiring for the project.

Also, this is the game that Jez Corden rumored that Xbox was teaming up with IO Interactive to make.  He recently updated that he's not sure if Xbox is still involved or not as this post didn't mention anything about that.

Is this game still fun to just get into for casual exploration/gunplay? I played it on release for a bit and remember the core gameplay loop being pretty fun, but I am not serious about end-game or playing with others, etc.

It's still very good, just very hard to get into if you've been gone for awhile.  Hard to figure out what to do, where to go ect.

  10. I was just talking about how tempted I am to buy this again to see if I can clear it on my first life after I did it on my second life on PS5.  Aftering getting some of the upgrades it makes the runs easier so i never got to experience that initial difficulty again after playing through once.  I never wanted to wipe my save either to restart from scratch.

I'll prob wait for a sale though as I don't feel like paying $60 for it after paying $70 for it once.

Alright, absolutely dominated what I played tonight and

cleared act 1 on my third life! I didn't know there were multiple acts. Looks like weapon proficiency is doubled, so are there 6 stages, or do you do the same 3 twice but they get harder?

    Spoiler

6 Unique Biomes, even though I didn't notice a huge difference between Biome 1 and 4.  2/5 are completely different, as are 3/6.

Do you eventually get an upgrade for the broom? Getting that 1:32 time in the time trial is brutal at the moment. I've gotten 1:38 and that was a near perfect run

I hit 1:35:67 yesterday with no upgrades and hit a few yellow boosts, so it maybe possible, but it'd have to be absolutely perfect.  I got 1 upgrade and will try again now.

1:32:02 first try with 1 upgrade, and I missed 1 ring, so def much easier with the upgrade.
