What if you're fighting more than one guy? Or fighting in an alley where there is broken glass or shit like that around? Most fights end up on the ground so it pays to know how to handle your self in that situation, but I would never want to take a street fight to the ground if I could help it. Nobody is tapping out in a street fight so unless you're gonna put someone to sleep, you're gonna be down there for awhile and it limits your options if you have to you know, run.

I can put someone to sleep in seconds, especially if they have never trained.
obviously multiple attackers is different. If two or three people attack me, im pulling a handgun, not a choke. There are obviously levels to this shit.

but I have an aversion to hitting people unless I have to. I saw a guy get severe brain damage from his head hitting pave after being hit. He’s not the same to this day.

but either way, I’ll probably never have to use either. I can’t remember the last time I was in a fight.

You're more concerned about punching someone than shooting them? Uh... ok. My cousin served time for accidentally killing someone he punched. I STILL don't have a problem cracking a mofo if I have to. Shooting someone is a whole other deal. But to each their own

One on one, I would rather choke them. (Or punch if necessary).

3 on 1 isn’t a fight, it’s attempted murder. So yes, in that situation im fine with using a gun. Again, I hope I never have to, but 1 on 1 and 3 on 1 are very different.

When I was Mr. Fucking Muay Thai and pissed off all the time, I used to bounce at a neighborhood bar on the weekends and hands down the most effective shutdowns were always the liver shot and clinch into knee to the stomach. Getting really cracked in the liver feels like poison spreading through your organs, it's insanely unpleasant and the big reason you see even the most hardcore boxers take a knee after a good body shot. Also leaves no immediately visible marks. I get that's not the same as a street fight but I mean, nobody is ever actually prepared for a street fight if it just happens out of the blue, you have no idea what the person is capable of or anything.

And yeah, I guess it's not as bad as a cold knockout and drop but there are a million things that can go horribly wrong just going to the ground to begin with as well. Head in the wrong position, who knows. But we're inching closer towards "YouTube martial arts video comment section" here by the post haha
