Pikachu Posted September 23, 2019 Posted September 23, 2019 https://www.blog.google/products/google-play/google-play-pass-enjoy-apps-and-games-without-ads-or-app-purchases/ Quote Google Play has always been about connecting you to the best apps, games and digital content out there. Since everyone plays a little differently, we’re introducing a new way to enjoy many of these digital experiences: Google Play Pass. Play Pass is a new subscription service that gives you access to more than 350 apps and games that are completely unlocked—all free of ads, in-app purchases and upfront payments. Play Pass offers a high-quality, curated collection of titles from Stardew Valley to AccuWeather, with new apps and games added every month. Play Pass is coming to Android devices in the U.S. this week, and we’ll be bringing it to additional countries soon. You can get started with a 10-day free trial and subscribe for just $4.99/month. And for a limited time, you can get Play Pass for only $1.99/month for your first twelve months, then $4.99/month (see full terms). Quote
AbsolutSurgen Posted September 23, 2019 Posted September 23, 2019 Came in hoping this was something like GamePass for Stadia. Left disappointed. Quote
Xbob42 Posted September 23, 2019 Posted September 23, 2019 I'm actually kind of excited about this. Due to the lack of reliable resources for what constitutes a quality mobile game (no major review outlets that don't also think those generic ass 3D Super Racer games are amazing, user reviews from people who love microtransactions and shitty non-gameplay games, etc) it's actually really difficult to find good mobile games. The search tools tend to be weak as well, with really inefficient lists so you scroll through tiny amounts of games at once, can't even find out if a game has controller support via search, etc, let alone what doesn't have ads or in-game purchases. So I'll be happy to try out a service that kicks all that in the nads. Fuck, even all the recommended-by-Google stuff tends to be garbage, which is a shame, because there ARE great games out there.
