Disney is now the first studio to have five films gross over $1 billion in a single year. In 2019 alone, “Avengers: Endgame,” “Captain Marvel,” “Aladdin,” “The Lion King” and now “Toy Story 4” have soared past 10-figures. Disney beat its own record, previously set in 2016, with four films having reached the billion-dollar mark. The company will release “Frozen 2,” a “Maleficent” sequel and “Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker” in the coming months, meaning Disney could continue to elevate that bar. I have to think it'll be at least 7 with Star Wars/Frozen 2. In addition to that, six movies have crossed a billion, the only non-Disney one being somewhat non-Disney in Sony's Spider-Man: Far From Home. Mercury33
Yeah I dunno about banking on Maleficent 2 breaking a billion. Did the first one really do that well?

eggydoo
I was not aware Captain Marvel hit 1 billion.
EternallDarkness
I wouldn't count on Mal 2 doing gangbusters business. The first Alice in Wonderland made over a billion...the sequel less than 300 million. Not saying you can compare the two series, just saying that just because one movie does great doesn't mean the sequels or other movies in the series will. There are no guarantees. Oh yeah, Solo also says hi!
Pikachu
Nice to see Toy Story 4 getting across the threshold. The movie hasn't even released in Germany yet.
