Denver doesn't compare to DC.  From a value standpoint DC is one of the top 10 in the NFL.  The money it brings in is crazy.  DC is one of the 3 biggest media markets in the country.  Despite our on-field mediocrity, the team prints money.

It is kind of sad though, that someone can buy a team and know they'll make tons of money and they don't even need to make sure the team is good.
