FCC chair plans crackdown on ISP/landlord deals that prevent competition

Recommended Posts

This is what killed me at a condo I was in before I had kids. Verizon came by and set up shop in the basement of the building and served the business on the lower floors with Fios. However, because of some bullshit agreement the board had with Comcast, Verizon wasn't allowed to extend service to the residential units on the upper floors. We even got mailers from Verizon with a new customer deal they were offering to all tenants.

In one of the last places I lived at, I had a roommate move in that had a better Comcast deal than I had. We decided to keep his deal and cancel mine. They charged me like a $200 cancellation fee. I was like "WE LITERALLY CANNOT KEEP BOTH PLANS, THERE'S ONLY ONE CABLE TO THE HOUSE," we had both been customers for years. Their response was "fuck you, pay me." Ever since then Comcast can royally fuck themselves.

Did you ever think that maybe you could also have just continued paying for a service you literally couldn't receive?

They play dirty like a porn subscription. They know you don't have anyone to complain to.

"Oh sorry, we charged you for an extra year, you're not going to publicly ask your bank to reverse the charge, you pervert."
