I feel kinda bad for NetherRealm and the other WB devs because to my knowledge, there's been no public plans for what is going to happen to those studios. Does Discovery intend to continue as-is? Or what? Those people gotta be living day to day right now.

The second tweet states that those studios will remain within the new combined WarnerMedia-Discovery entity.

the total price Disney paid in 2012 was $4.05B for Lucasfilm. Adjusted for inflation, that’s $4.7B in today’s money. EA’s still a bit off.

Indeed. But we don't know how much control Discovery is going to have in the merger. If I know anything about office politics, it's that the new daddy gorilla's gotta throw his weight around a bit. Especially if it's a bail-out.

 

If the plan is to stick to business as usual... then great!
