Ghost_MH
Taito announces mini arcade cabinet with rotating screen and trackball controller WWW.THEVERGE.COM Finally, a proper way to play Cameltry at home. The rotating screen is definitely the best part, but the swapping the joystick out with a trackball is pretty damn great.
Rodimus
OK, I have been wanting more screen rotation in these. I might bite. It looks nice.
chakoo
I have a sega astro city mini and this thing looks amazing. I'm totally down for buying one next year. Love that it has a 4:3 screen and tate mode.
chakoo
There are some early hands on reviews for the system due to western release being handled by Strictly Limited Games. You can tell because the units all have blue buttons (Units in japan have pink buttons). The japanese release is next week March 2nd (i've got my pre-order locked). The limited US/EU release is in may.

Reputator
Looks pretty awesome! I can't justify it for myself, but as a shmup fan I'd probably buy it in an instant if money were no object.

chakoo
I haven't had a chance to play yet but this came in today. While I expect the system to be a little big, I think what shocks me more is how big the box to the controller is, lol.

chakoo
I'm probably the only one here this matters to but the FW is now out. It's a nice improvement so far. Slinky Ramune has also already reversed the update and how it all works. It's a pretty solid way for in the future to instal CFW.
X-pert74
I'm kinda more interested in the trackball/spinner controller than I am the actual mini-arcade machine itself I wish it was available separately for cheaper...

If you just wanted the controller I would probably hold out if hori releases the controller they showed off a while back. I enjoy having the taito one but I wouldn't consider it solid/perfect, it works ok for what it is. Another option might be to see if Taito puts more out for sale when the arcade memories vol 1 hits in december.
X-pert74
Yeah, that's right - I am curious to see how that Hori controller turns out. I hope it delivers on those unique features they showed off in their proof of concept 👀
