Are there items that restore missing missing health bar or only resting does it?
I think eventually you do get items and spells that restore missing health. It's good to keep camping kits on you so you can rest out in the wild though. I discovered if you die and use a wakestone all of your health is fully restored. I was holding off on using them but sometimes it's worth it. I think I have three now.

I actually haven't seen many fugly fucks. I wanna see some real monsters on the roads. I never deviate outside of slightly modified presets cuz I'm a lazy. All I did on my character was change the nose, skintone, and eye color and then added a beard. With my pawn all I did was ears, skintone, and eyecolor.
Oh I've seen some HIDEOUS pawns... straight up nightmare fuel.

@skillzdadirecta I got to the open world. I take back what I said about the visuals. They are great and it really feels like I'm playing Ninja Gaiden here. I really like the combat. I'm just not sure if I can squeeze this game in with DD2.
The open world looks good... it's the character models that look a little rough. Not ugly, but not quite current gen. Like last gen upscaled or something. The character design, gameplay and everything else make up for it though. I started watching Shogun last night on FX so it made me really want to get into this. I played a little more last night and aI just got my horse so I'm probably about where you are. I'm definitely going to be dividing my time between this in DD2. Fortunately there are no other game coming out anytime soon that I'm interested in day one.

Finally started this tonight, Rise of The Ronin is the perfect companion game to this show. Only about 20 minutes in and MAN it is beautifully shot.

I'm guessing last night's episode was the season finale? Tozawa is shaping up to be an all time great TV villain.

Found my first seeker's token... don't know what it does yet.

I have healing items but they’re greyed out and I can’t use them. I mixed herbs and made harspud juice or whatever, and still can’t use it.
I guess I just need to pay $1.99 to heal.
ha ha….ha…
yea.
No idea what's going on then.

About an hour in. Still can’t figure out how to heal
Greenwarish herbs in your inventory heal if yoy don't have a mage that heals you. The herbs are a basic healing item along with most food and you can craft a bunch of different concoctions and recipes to heal even further.

Uh, what do you mean by this?
You kind of phrase it as it's a bug, but as I understand it, it simply loads whatever save you had when you last rested at an Inn, which isn't going to be very common. Is there a bug or something?
Oh so it isn't a bug?

NEW UPDATE:
PSA: Don't use the 'Load from Last Inn Rest' option in Dragon's Dogma 2 unless you want to risk permanently losing progress...
Ugh... the first game had a corrupted save bug that would lose all your progress too

I was speaking to the guy at the inn and the only thing I could do was manage inventory?
Maybe it's certain inns? or maybe you're not leveled up enough to upgrade a vocation? I've definitely done it a couple of times. But yeah some Inns you can't stay at or manage inventory which is confusing. There's an Inn in the main town where the only options you get is buy drinks for everyone

Anyone playing where do you upgrade combat abilities? It used to be in the inns in part 1.
Still at the Inns.

yeah makes you wonder what the point of them is when the bury the bad, because they dont want to hurt something they like. This sounds more like pure incompetence... he said that Capcom put the microtransaction info in the review materials but he didn't open that because he didn't want to be spoiled on anything in the game and he didn't want to be subconsciously influenced. HOWEVER, another reviewer pointed out to him that Capcom sent all reviewers a seperate PDF labled "PAID DLC" that detailed the microtransactions and that the info wasn't in the review materials. Cordon and other reviewers didn't bother to read ANY of this stuff and thena cted all surprised and butt hurt when Capcom "tried to pull a fast one"
Anyway, I met the Minotaur someone mentioned earlier... he joined in as I was already fighting a group of goblins and Saurians and wiped my whole party out Do these different monsters attack each other? I fought the griffin a couple of times but it runs whenever you hurt it too badly. It can't deal with fire attacks.

I posted the DF video. They said the Series X has a slightly better frame rate but the checkerboard upscaling is bugged so until it's fixed, visually PS5 will look better.
Until Capcom runs some optimizations though it's hard to put one over the other since the main town drops the frame rate so much.
In terms of load times. I couldn't tell you.
I haven't had any framerate drops in the main town but what I HAVE had is people just materializing in front of me out of thin air as I move through the town. That happens quite a bit. But honestly aside from a couple of cinematics, I haven't noticed any framerate dips or long load times... playing on the series X.

C'mon @best3444 this game was NEVER presented as a grahics showcase. You can go back in this thread and see several people make that point myself included. I think you even responded to to a couple of posts commenting on the graphics. While they are not cutting edge, UGLY is a very strong word. And like other Team Ninja games, I expect this will be a timed exclusive. Nioh was a Sony exclusive as well when it came out. Nioh 2 and Wo-long weren't though.

Also Jez Cordon later tweeted that Capcom DID inform reviewers in the review materials that these microtransactions would be in the game... he just didn't bother to read the material Gaming "Journalism" at its finest. I would post the actual tweet here but it's from the banned site.

Can your share Pawns across platforms? Also has anyone been out at night in the game yet? There were different enemies at night in the first game. Lastly I can't find the storage in the main town... the one inn there doesn't seem to have storage.

@skillzdadirecta The good thing about this game for me is it only takes 12-15 hours to beat on easy mode. That's a perfect length for me with this genre.
I didn't realize it was so short.

What level are you guys? I leveled up a couple of times before I even set out for the city... I'm around level 9 and I took the cyclops out on the first try with ease. But yeah like @Keyser_Soze You're gonna get ganked because some big ass monster may appear out of nowhere while you're fighting trash mobs. Just run if you can.

no. Just surprising this so near the main city so early in the game. I’d expect this more further out when you’ve gotten stronger, better gear, and more capable pawns. Like this wiped out not only my party, but a random ox cart and it’s entourage of protectors too.
it is the kind of thing that throws suspension of disbelief out of the way all of a sudden too, as that is just untenable for a civilization to survive at all if the world is this savage and inhospitable in its density of perils. Especially when the story so far isn’t “man, there are more creatures than ever by a significant magnitude, please help”.
What killed you? I got to the main city as well. Game is tough and in the first game you were encouraged to run if you were outmatched.

Holy magic would have made that fight a lot easier... I don't think any of your pawns had any. Also you weren't using your quick commands on the D-Pad. I think by default a couple of the stronger healing potions are assigned to the D-pad but you should be able to switch them out. I noticed when you were using your abilities you never used a potion and always went into the menu to use herbs or berries wich don't heal as much. Can you grab this guy? i feel like you should be able to jump on him and grab him and bring him to the ground. Otherwise I was surprised you stuck it out and killed him. But yeah undead and skeletons are very weak against Holy magic.
