  1. I think you are missing some of the actual statement. While this is great news (and I had posted about Xbox getting DV support before the great D1P collapse of 2018).... I believe only streaming services, read: netflix will now support DV. There is no word whether or not blu-ray support for DV will happen. We can only hope.

  2. sure. back when i was an apprentice in the telecom industry learning to be a lineman and fiber splicer... i worked for a non-union shop. they paid $10/hr, no overtime, no PTO, no benefits. Just time worked. I would constantly work 60+hr shifts and would get a flat $600 paycheck (before taxes, in NY too). Now there was nothing I agreed to that stated this is what they did, nor did they tell me that when I took the job. However, I bit the bullet and dealt with it bc I was learning a trade in a niche market. Wound up spending years like that..but eventually worked my way up to a Foreman level by busting my ass and basically not being a bumbling idiot. I then fought for proper wages for my guys and was able to get it done. The company finally at least paid overtime. Still no PTO or benefits though. Towards the end of the company's life before they got bought out they finally got us benefits (they sucked, but it was something at least).

New company was legit. Full bennies, PTO, etc... but now they only paid salary. I will admit they gave me a slight bump to compensate b/c I was threatening to walk..but the first 2 years of that company I made less than the last 2 years of the first company. BUT HEY, it was perfectly legal now!! Salaried employment to me, is a bunch of fucking bullshit. Its just another way for corporation to get over on their employees by not having to pay them what they rightfully earned. So with the new company I still worked 60+hrs a week, but now didnt get paid for the last 20hrs at all. lol.

That company then got bought out and I was offered a job in engineering. I have no one working for me anymore, so Im only responsible for myself. My bosses work in other cities and I rarely see or hear from them. I come and go as I please, work a few days from home a week, and never ever work more than 40hrs a week...and I make a shit ton more money. So in the end, buckling down and sticking with it paid off.

  3. Cold Cheese Pizza FTW!!!! Only 2 legit places to get a cold cheese slice - Little Vincents in Huntington, NY or Tino's Pizza in Oneonta, NY.

Other than that, the only time I like toppings on my pizza is if Im getting dominos - then I get it with sausage and mushrooms (but is dominos really even pizza?).

  4. I actually read this first on Fox News this morning of all media outlets and even they made it sound like it was a giant politically-motivated crock of shit. I was actually shocked to see how non-biased they were about it (honestly, there has been a few reporters that have really stepped up their game and refuse to ride the trump cocktrain over there. i appreciate it from them).

    ASG: Survive Sunrise - 8/10

Admittedly I originally got this album for the booby cover (yes I'm still blind buying in 2018) but I thought after the first listen the album was incredibly solid. It's mastodonish/Baronessish kind of southern sludgy rock. Vocals kinda remind me of Pinback.

I love the uprising of the Doom/Sludge Sabbath-inspired genre. I feel like its getting crowded, but this seems exceptionally good. I will have to give it a good listen.

  6. When my wife had my daughter, we faced-off with the breast-feeding nazis. She had a C section so spent a few extra days in the hospital and at the same time, complained that it was a bit painful when she tried to breast feed. Also, my daughter was crying a lot and it seemed she wasnt getting enough milk. The Drs supplemented with formula which instantly chilled my daughter out. Meanwhile these two RN breat-feeding nazis made my wife feel like shit for wanting to give up on trying and kept insisting she continue ...accompanied with telling us the terrible things that will happen to my daugther if she doesnt suck it up and push through. Turns out my wife had some infection (cant remember what it was called as it was 9yrs ago) in her breasts. I very politely told them to fuck off and requested that different nurses assist my wife.

My daughter will be 9. Shes totally healthy, excels at school, is a beast of a lacrosse player and does pretty good in fortnite.

And my wife is still an advocate for breast-feeding. If you can do it, then you absolutely should..but shaming a mother who cant or doesnt is a shitty thing to do.

@Spork3245 After looking around for a few days it doesn't seem like there's really a prime option for Renting.  Vudu def seems the best but like you said, it's expensive.  Overall for 4k movies it seems iTunes and Vudu are both great with iTunes having the drawback that you have to be tied into their universe.

It depends on the movie studio. Apple participates in movies anywhere, so the majority of your purchases will port over to vudu or google play, amazon, etc.

I think paramount and lions gate don’t participate. There might be some others. So if you purchase a movie from one of those studios on any streaming platform, you’re locked to it.

  8. I absolutely love my Apple TV 4K. I’ve had the firestick, Roku, Native apps...but the Apple TV is just so much faster and overall more fluid. I love their “TV” app that is like an aggregate app of all the things you watch on the device.

If you’re  in the Apple ecosystem it’s definitely worth it.

DirectTVnow had a promotion (possibly still going on) where if you pre-paid for 3 months of service you got an Apple TV 4K for free. Total was $105  shipped and you got to try DTVnow. Well worth the purchase.

Also, there are websites, eBay and google hangouts where people sell digital codes dirt cheap. For instance, my last purchase was Arrival, Cabin In the Woods and Martian .... all 4K DV and I paid $10bux for all 3. More often than not, you can snag a code cheaper or only $1-2 more than renting.

Well, we don’t have HT forums anymore, so we’d better start the debate again. ?

I’m just speaking from my own personal observations. If you don’t see a noticeable visual difference on your screen with your viewing conditions and your eyes, then that’s great. I absolutely see the difference on my screen with my viewing conditions with my eyes and I am grateful for the superior quality that UHD 4K Blu Ray offers.

I see the difference as well. However, it comes down to whether or not if its worth $25+ for that difference. IMO, for the majority of movies, its not worth it. I buy physical for the big releases  or where the blu-ray is being reviewed as exceptional. There arent many of those (my list is above). My next physical purchase will be Ready Player One.
