What in the actual fuck? How is this good for consumers?

Maybe im missing something... but are there states where amazon doesn’t charge sales tax?

Here in NY we’ve been paying sales tax for goods purchased through amazon for as long as i can remember. I’m also going to suspect that the vast majority of high population states (re: the coasts) also pay the sales tax. And these states are also probably vast the majority of all sales (by a large margin).

Now, there is zero incentive for me to purchase an item from a 3rd party vendor on amazon. Their prices were usually slightly higher to begin with, but a lot of time if the item is expensive enough, they can be cheaper due to not having to pay the sales tax. Allowing these smaller mom and pop shops able to compete with amazon. That’s 100% out the window now. It was always a risk buying 3rd party due to warranty issues, etc. now I’ll just buy from amazon direct. No need to even bother check the other vendors.

    Good job trump!

After seeing an OLED in action, I couldn't imagine buying an LCD TV  (no matter what other marketing term they want to call it)

Agreed. Once I saw one in action I knew that I had to have one.

However - if you watch a lot of sports or like to leave the news on for extended period...not the best choice

    Hmmm

I was considering getting a QLED since they added freesync support but now I’m not sure: I wasn’t aware that it only supported HDR and not both HDR and Dolby Vision. :/

From what I understand (unless things changed for the new 2018/19 models) that QLED has terrible input lag as well.

Seems either OLED or Sony X900/930/940F series are the way to go. And TCL 6 series for people on a budget.

It's a policy that's in place to prevent workplace disruption/HR nightmares if the relationship goes sour.  Personally, I'm VERY much in favor of policies like that.

    why though?

you're telling me if you met someone and completely hit off, instant sparks, potential love of your life.... you then have to chose between keeping your job and perusing a possible romantic interest?

obviously if the relationship goes sour and it affects work, then it needs to be dealt with....but outside relationships can equally cause the same problem for someone not able to cope.

Is there a noticeable difference between HDR and DV’s HDR?

supposedly DV is better, but from what ive seen, it just looks different to me. im not really sure if i can say one looks better than the other. maybe someone with a better trained eye.

  6. The last game I played was Battlefield 1. Originally bought it on PC and put a few hundred hours in, but put it down before any hefty content updates. Recently picked it up for X1X for $15 bux will all the DLC. I probably have about 15hrs in and there are so many maps now I dont think Ive even seen all the new ones. Tons of new weapons and ways to earn them. New perk system and missions to unlock them. They really did a lot to this game and I love it. I wish Battlefront II got this treatment.  I am excited for BF: V

I do not want an S. I have a launch unit already. :p

My fiancé wants to get it for me today, I guess I was mostly wondering if there were any bundled with games or game pass or something. :sun:

if you want to sell that launch unit for cheap, I may be interested!

So you want the same thing you're feeling about MCU films to be replicated with Star Wars?

Star Wars doesn't need a movie every year. Especially if they let quality slide and just make winking self-references every other one.

Marvel is doing like 3 movies a year...and still smashing records.

I specifically stated one a year is fine. I think the issue with Solo was that it  was released too close to Ep.8 and too close to Avengers.

It shouldve been a Q4 release.

  9. I really can’t wrap my brain around all the complaints about the anthology movies. They are infinitely better than the latest 2 parts of the main trilogy.

Rogue One was fantastic. IMO, next to the OT, it’s the next best Star Wars movie. Solo was a lot of fun. I thoroughly enjoyed it.

Why would anyone want less Star Wars?  I’ll gladly go see any SW movie they throw at me. One movie a year is fine. Keep telling the stories.

On the other hand, people eat the marvel movies up and i am just so sick and not excited for them anymore. It’s the same movie swapping characters. I would’ve stopped going to see these movies a while ago if it wasn’t for my kids.

  10. Can you pre-purchase tickets for upcoming movies? Like ant-man and wasp...taking my kids to see that opening day. That’s a definite pre-purchase bc every showing will be sold out all weekend.

I have MoviePass for date night with my wife. It’s $13/head for a movie so if I only go once a month, it’s worth it. I still pay separately for the blockbusters i want to see opening day/weekend. So this AMC pass may be worth it (esp with the concession discount too) if i can pre-order reserved seats.
