damn. Im not sure how I got so over-leveled so fast. I have 90hrs and im like level 142. I havent really farmed anything either. I did the dragon and night calvary in calied and thats it. Never did the bird farm until I actually got to that area from the portal in consecrated snowfield. Even then I only did the farm for 1 full level since I need like 125k+ runes now to level. It is crazy how many runes they throw at you late game. Mohg, Lord of Blood dropped 420K runes! Lol. That was 3 full level-ups and then a 4th using what was leftover and the crazy amount of hero/lord/golden 13 runes i had in my inventory. im in about 1/2 way through. I guess Im getting close to the end now. I still have the Haligtree left and then I think the boss rush and thats it.

good news. I think they have a winning formula that allows the casuals to have an enjoyable experience and also maintains the difficulty for the die-hards.

theres definitely a lot of flaws, but its the only game ive been playing with my limited time these days. Im 86hrs in and not bored of it yet, which is a testament to its staying power. Most open world games, by 20-25hrs, I check out. This is a solid 9 for me. my biggest issues are: 1.) most boss battles come down to the same tactics. Theres not a lot of diversity in how you approach a fight. A few of them were unique - Radahn, Rykard as of now. 2.) the platforming in this game is a joke with the controls. They arent made for it and its obvious. 3.) this game gets compared to BOTW a lot and its definitely the closest open world game to it. However, in BOTW you feel more connected to the world. Theres more interaction with the environment with the climbing, using it in fights, etc. In ER you kinda just exist inside of the world. 4.) lack of a quest log. this is self-explanatory and I think everyone agrees. I dont need a pin on the map telling me where to go, just a journal or something of the NPCs ive met and the conversation I had with them.

Fire Giant down!! now…what to do next so… do I continue past the Fire Giant, or do I venture out into the consecrated snowfield? Oh yeah, I found Rivers of Blood, so I can scratch that off the to-do list.

if u go to menu ->system (I think) and then exit, it will show your actual game time. im at 83hrs. Level 120. Im on the mountaintop and im considering just following the sites of grace to the next zone. There are two things I want to do in this area though: Finish Latennas quest and get the Rivers of Blood weapon. is there anything here I absolutely should do? I dont want to get locked out of content if I push through.

Black Knife Tiche ash needs a nerf! LOL. I was having trouble with the glinstone dragon Tried like 5 times and couldnt kill it. so i left and explored. Got the summons. Heard it was good. Went and leveled it to +10 and went back. the Fing summons took 1/3 health off the dragon before it was fully spawned. Wound up killing it no problem first try with BKT.

Im only 107 rn. And the only talisman you mentioned that I have is the radagon sorseal. also - i just found Wings of Astel. Ive heard good things about this sword and I think I can take it to +10 right away. so….wings or moon?

Question on my +9 moonviel katana. Im currently at 60 INT. Im not sure what the cap is, but i stopped leveling at 60. the katana scales with dex also, but I only have 20 points in dex right now. If i start adding points to dex will the damage increase? Or does it chose the higher of the 2 attributes?

Im playing this game slow, but thoroughly enjoying it. I think im about 72-75hrs in. I think im lvl 105 and I got my astrologer to 60 INT and running the moonviel katana at +9. Have my mimic tear at +7. Also using the meteorite staff in my left hand for range. I feel really beastly. I like to agro stuff with lorettas greatbow and then just destroy them with transient moonlight. Ive cleared out almost everything in Limgrave, Lake, Plateau. Killed Radahn and did the stuff after that. im now in the Capital and I think Ive done a whole bunch here but def not all of it. I know theres some underground stuff here but havent found the entrance. Im going to continue to explore before I move on.

Life has been busy AF. Got the game on launch and Im only at and there is definitely a few things I skipped in the lake. game is huge. Maybe I can complete it sometime this year. Lol. Its crazy to read some people are on their 6-7 playthroughs. I am loving it though!

Bummer. Theres def a few QoL things they can do without going full ubisoft. Another to add to the gear comparison, a simple quest log would be nice. Doesnt have to be a marker on the map or anything. Just something like “you talked to this chic and she tells you her dad is in this place. Asks you to see if you can find him” thats all.

Ok so a few questions: 1.) how exactly does attribute scaling work? The section at the bottom of a weapon where it seems to be graded D->C for example. 2.) when looking at a weapon, there seems to be a base damage and then another number to the right. Is that with gear or buff affects activated? 3.) how do trigger critical hits? Is it based on a single hard hit? I seem to rarely ever trigger that audible note when you get the hit and the enemy looks staggered or takes a knee. Maybe bc I button mash at that point, so im bypassing the critical hit? Is there a way to predict when youre going to land one so you know to chill and line yourself up for the R1 critical attack? 4.) is there a weapon/armor comparison setting when for instance youre looking at a vendors gear and want to compare it to your gear?

Was swamped with work so didnt get to play a ton. got through stormveil castle on the main path and killed Goddric on my first attempt. I got this named summons Lithugal or something like that and leveled him to +3 and he basically facetanked goddric while chipped away from the back. I heard there was an NPC you can summon like magrit but I didnt see where I could do it before the fight. I need to continue exploring the castle bc its massive. I also fully explored and beat all bosses in all of limegrave with the exception of the boss in stormhill evergaol. Dude is hard AF…but im now like 10 levels up from last time so i have to try again. Also need to go back to sofria well. I barely did damage to the enemies right at the start so I pieced out. Can only imagine what else is in there. I stoped at the edge of calied bc Im still having PSTD from getting sent to that crystal cave…but I do have to get back there as well. I really think they hit the nail on the head with this game. between the exploration, all the cool stuff you find, optional boss fights and more forgiving checkpoints, its really one of the best open world games ive ever played. And I had no intention of playing it. I just hope that as I progress (bc I know im still basically at the beginning) that I dont hit some unforgiving difficulty wall thats going to burn me out.

Its not for me. Im stuck on the Runebear boss and ive hit him a dozen times with it and nothing happens.

I normally do spend them right away, in fact I went right there after the Tree Sentiel to spend them. And I wouldnt have normally jumped bc im a big pussy when i have a few thousand souls on me. But I was having network issues last night and was playing offline so no bloodstains were showing up. Totally Forgot, and leaped right over thinking it was a shortcut to the blacksmith. Lol.

Been a crazy week so I havent been able to play much. I did finally beat the Tree Sentinel. I then took my runes to the roundtable and fuck that guy. I picked up The Morning Star mace in the south of Limgrave and its passive says “causes bloodloss buildup (50)”. What does that do? So far I havent seen blood loss proc on anything, including bosses.

I was using my starting short sword for s while that I got up to +2 and then put an ashes of war on it that allegedly made it a quality weapon. I finally got a straight sword that does more damage at base than my short sword +2, so ive been using that and then equiped the ashes of war to make it quality. I might leveled it to +1, I dont remember. I want to say I do around 50-60 damage. Im sure if i was patient and kited a lot I could bring him down, but it would take forever and I lose my patience.

I am. I think the issue is I rolled an astrologer and I do so little physical damage and he deflects my magic back at me with his shield. So I just gallop around him and chip away. Each hit barely does anything and eventually he just catches me. Best ive done was maybe get him down 2/3rds.
