  1. I played about 45 minutes and beat the first two levels. Game is hard. It's like Celeste if you had to drill through the ground. I'm surprised @stepee would hype up such a difficult game. :p

Does turning up the haptics make the track pad feel tighter? I felt like track pad was a bit too loose and maybe the D-pad wasn't loose enough.

Ok. If I had a pc that could make a game look photo realistic I'd be all over it. I got ya though.

BTW, the game itself is so fuckin good.

While not photorealistic the path tracing in DD2 is pretty transformative

    Spoiler

    Default

    ?imw=5000&imh=5000&ima=fit&impolicy=Lett

    Path Tracing

    ?imw=5000&imh=5000&ima=fit&impolicy=Lett

Watch that DF video in the DD2 thread if you haven't already, it shows off a lot more than this.

    @Biggie GameSpot gave it a 3/10

I don't think the reviewer mindset is right for these types of games.

For instance I'm actually enjoying Harold Halibut quite a bit but you have to accept the game for what it is rather than what it's not. I keep hearing, "he walks slow" or it's boring and stuff like that but, for what the game is doing I think Harold's pace is appropriate. As for boring it sounds like a lot of people haven't got past chapter 2 yet. You see some stuff in this game, I'm actually pretty blown away by it.

    American Virgin: 5/10

There was a moment in 2005 when virgin humor was all the rage and arguably peaked with The 40-Year-Old-Virgin. This film, American Virgin, came out four years too late and also seemed to miss the point of what made 40YOV good, being funny or having actual comedians/funny people in the movie. When Rob Schneider is the headliner for your movie you know you've got a problem (although I guess Bo Burnham is considered funny there's not much here for him).

The movie follows a woman named Priscilla who took a purity vow to get a college scholarship. She's very devout, uptight and judgemental. She gets matched up with a roomate, Naz, who is very much the opposite. You can pretty much tell where this is going. In any case Rob Schneider is Ed Curtzman, a guy who runs a video company called Chicks Go Crazy (obviously a parody of Girls Gone Wild) and Priscilla ends up getting drunk off Jello shots and getting naked and then the rest of the movie is trying to hunt down Curtzman to convince him to give him the video back.

As a comedy it is a failure, the jokes are crude and not very funny. The story is predictable and you pretty much know what's going to happen to the characters. But there was something captivating enough about it that makes it appealing enough to see it all the way through. I was surprised to see that the director is actually a woman, Clare Kilner, and she directed one of the episodes of Fallout so maybe she's the magic touch that keeps this movie from being truly awful.

Also, stick around for the post credits boob chart that is mentioned earlier in the movie! :o

edit: You might be just thinking of the first two years or so also as ubi games like the AC series and Far Cry were transformative how upgraded they felt over console.

Yeah the early days. I'm pretty sure some modes were console only as well like in regards to Splinter Cell. I can't remember what off the top of my head though.

One thing the 360era had going for it is that console gamers had piss poor standards for iq and performance so they could really push a good generational leap. Myself, it’s when I moved back to pc. Partially because that’s when everything became multi platform but also because my goodness those games were smeary chugging garbage for the most part. If you play an actual ps360 game now that shit is rough.

Though some 360 games were better than the PC version. I'm pretty sure a lot of Ubisoft games were not as good on PC like Rainbow Six Vegas. And of course notoriously the NBA 2K games were like a step down generationaly, like not having colored lighting compared to the console versions and stuff.

DeS is sooooo good, but I don't see how it's more impressive than Spider-Man 2. Being able to traverse the world that quickly with very little pop-in, plus instantly fast travel to a street block on the map, not to mention the incredible effects of something like the Sandman fight done in an open world, are things that just wouldn't work on the PS4.

I mean DeS has super instant load times, no pop-in and incredible effects as well. And to top it off way better lighting.
