I’m sorry they lost, Slug, and I have been wrong about a couple of things.

However, going back to the off-season I was not wrong about Wentz (at this point of his career I never understood the appreciation that some had for him around here) and somewhat validated a bit about Riverboat Ron…turning to Wentz was stupid and him not knowing his team could be full fledged eliminated today was just plain ignorant.

The Raiders have done Carr dirty -- treating him like they are on the way out is shitty.

I don't necessarily with the disagree with trying to find a better/different QB -- telling him to go home with 2 games left, without saying goodbye to his teammates or fans is low.

    From the Athletic:

"Since drafting Carr in 2014, the #Raiders rank 19th in expected points added (EPA) on offense while ranking 32nd in combined EPA on defense and special teams."

Carr isn't an elite QB, but he has been the best part of the Raiders for the last 10 years.

and the comments out in the ether have been terrible. Putting it on him for walking out.

idiots.  This is all contract based.  He gets hurt these last two games and the Raiders are on the hook.

I agree with GMFB.  He is a good, not great QB, but the way that team has been run, man…He will be playing on a much better team next year.  Would not be surprised to see him in Jets green.

  3. @Biggie I’ve changed my mind from our back and forth a couple of weeks.  Yeah, there are a lot of bad teams in the league. Most of the games I’ve watched, though, even the mid tier games and teams have been pretty good, be user of the good QBs I’ve watched, which the afc is littered with, but yeah I’m now with you.

Unrelated, the combined win total of 23 next week Monday is the highest combined win total between two teams in the 53 year history of Monday Night Football.

Perhaps one day he will pull an Eric Weddle and unretire to join a playoff team.

@BuckFly might think he would look good in a Bills uniform. 🤔

Jeepers, unrelated, I just saw a stat that the Bills-Bengals game is the only game this weekend between two teams with a winning record.

Having only one game between teams with a winning record during the last two weeks of the NFL season has only occurred one other time since the merger 52 years ago.

Oh, I forgot - the 1978 World Cup was held in the (American-supported) fascist military dictatorship of Argentina.

The young dissidents who were being tortured and murdered at the Navy Petty Officers School in Buenos Aires could hear the cheering from the stadium -- especially when Argentina won the final match -- which was located only a few hundred meters away.

They beat the Netherlands.  I was old enough to watch that.  Great game.

He's also, to this point, played 4 more games than Dan Marino.

Yeah, I thought Marino had played 72. Josh I think is at 74, and tonight was his 50th win (50-24).

edit: additional correction, they are tied at 171.  Surprising that pro football reference was off on that.  I thought Josh had one receiving td, but they said 2.  An article just now has them tied, and I believe the two receiving tds is off.

I was at the last one.  Records were made to fall.

Unrelated, Josh Allen I believe is now 1 TD behind Dan Marino for most TDs in the first five years of his career.  171 to 170. Josh has played two more games at this point I think.

edit: correction, he has passed him.  Josh also has two regular season receiving tds.

which says the NFL is a mediocre mess

Which it may always be, and may always have been, even in 1998 and 2016.  It is all perspective.  However, that doesn't change the fact of what these games mean and it also doesn't make them bad ( or even mediocre) games just because there are scars or chinks in the armor.

All of it raised, generally, by the tide of consequences associated with the games at hand.

I'd probably give the nod to Tennessee at Chargers on that one. At least in terms of excitement it should be the top of the most interesting games list.

The Titans are fake cows***, if fake cow*** still smelled bad and messed up a room.  Additionally, considering that even 1 more win probably wins the South for Tennessee, and if they win all their remaining games it really doesn't change their 4th place position, all  falls under the category of "not the biggest deal in the world" for them.

A loss by either team in the Giants / Commanders game starts to put them in a precarious position.

Biggie it's what some teams in the NFL are focused on and vying for at this time of year.

  10. In the NFL in 2022 we have arrived at the point, and this is not meant to be derogatory, that one of the two best games on Sunday is Lions and Jets.

Giants / Commanders is the other.

    Good, good stuff.

EDIT: with the Lions O against the Jets D, and then splattering of goodness on both sides in other facets, well...to paraphrase Apollo Creed, "It's like a damn MONSTER movie!"

Kind of like the Jets. They were doing so well and then someone told them they were supposed to be tanking this year and started shitting the bed.

I said it before, the Jets are nasty and I don't want the Bills having any piece of them in the playoffs.  Three out of four AFC East teams currently in the playoff spot, one just on the outside, all 4 with winning records, and they have a total of 4 games between them remaining.  Good stuff.

EDIT:  I swear to you before the season I thought the AFC West was going to be the toughest division in the AFC, maybe in all of football.

    That aged so poorly.

Both teams are close. Miami has a better offense and Jets have a better defense. I'm a bit biased being a Dolphins fan, but I believe Tua gives Miami the edge over the Jets.

I always was "prove it to me" with Tua.  Not anymore.  I think he is really good.

The fact that his last game was not ideal doesn't change any of that for me.

Smart player.  Great coach.  Great weapons.  That all works.

  13. Who do you guys honestly think is the better team, Miami or the Jets?

As much as Miami has so much put together on that offense and seems so very well coached, the Jets also seemed to have (for now) straightened out their QB issue (they are "playing for" White kind of like guys would play for Fitzpatrick), and they have a nastiness to them on defense that is enviable.

Just curious because I don't think either team is commented about around here and I am not sure there is any D1P members associated with them.
