  1. I see this a lot, but it's false. Massive stimulus under Biden that wouldn't have happened under Trump Better access to free vaccines, saving hundreds of thousands of lives Arming Ukraine instead of telling Russia to take it Record number of judicial appointments in the first Presidential year in office since 1980, a record number of which were public defenders First Black woman on the Supreme Court Biden, like Obama, is too much of a coward to do the hard things, all in the sake of protecting convention. But he is a million times better than the alternative. The correct answer is that people should have voted for Clinton. And this year when Pelosi helps that shit turd discussed early (who is pro-life) win the nomination in hi district over the progressive female challenger, the correct answer is to vote for him, too. The correct answer is to hold your nose forever and vote for the lesser of two evils. In between you can work as hard as you can to not have to make that choice, but when the time comes, you make it every single time.
  2. Democrats (and progressives in general) need to start realizing that every single opportunity for conflict needs to be jumped on. No, RBG retiring in 2014 or 2015 wouldn't have stopped Trump from appointing 2 or 3 people and swinging the court—but she should have done it anyway to maximize the cause. Republicans jump on every single lever of power at all times. If they think taking control of a small town's library board will help them out in a few years, then they will get their diehards to do it. Democrats love to vote for someone inspirational every 4 years, but that's a losing game. The only way to stop monsters is to go to the wall every single time.
  3. Wanting to feel aggrieved and noble is a universal trait, I think. Nothing makes Republicans harder than thinking they are a victim. The difference, I think, is that because their policies and beliefs support doing harm to other people, they don't care what it takes to achieve their goals. It's just empathy vs lack of empathy.
  4. ...and? This tweet is just saying what they are doing, it's not offering any response.
  5. The Republicans have found an insurrection they do not love:
  6. Apparently Russian soldiers are now terrified of Ukrainian artillery (which could be tied to the apparently introduction of M777 systems, which are scary accurate) and are refusing to enter combat. Officers are threatening to shoot soldiers if they refuse to advance:
  7. I'm very, very sorry. I'm glad you got to take the road trip with him not too long ago (I followed on instagram and was happy to see). That our companions have such shorter lives than us is cruel, and the fact that they don't understand their own mortality even crueler. But, the good thing about our companionship is the joy it brings to them, and to us. Giving them a good and safe life (which I know you have) is a good and moral cause and undertaking.
  8. The next steps, as I see them (and Americans, please interject your opinions on this): Senate votes on bill to codify abortion rights federally, it fails (or has enough votes but can't get past filibuster) Liberal states strengthen protections for abortion, conservative states outlaw abortion (in a race to be as draconian as possible) GOP takes House and Senate in 2022/24 on the back of gerrymandering and an ancient electoral system design to reward white, male land owners GOP takes Presidency in 2024 with either Trump or DeSantis GOP introduces a nationwide ban on abortion. Democrats try to filibuster, GOP eliminates filibuster and passes bill. President signs First Liberal state (I'm thinking California or New York) says they will ignore the law Goes to court, SCOTUS says they must follow State insists they will continue to allow abortions ??? ??? FBI or National Guard, etc, ordered to act to close clinics? ??? De facto state of unraveling of the federal/state structure of laws as other states indicate they will ignore some/other laws?
  9. Yeah, I believe estimates put the Russian manpower advantage in the Donbas at 8:1, which makes Ukraine's defense even more remarkable. The question is: where are the rest of the Ukrainian soldiers, and when are they headed to the eastern front?
  10. If Captain America outed Manchin as the Red Skull and threw him off a bridge, mclumber would bemoan the loss of civility on the left, and how Red Skull could have been removed via constitutional process of election or impeachment, damn the consequences or impact of having a super villain running things.
  11. The people who want these things would be just as happy ruling over a destitute, medieval kingdom as a modern society. Power and control is what matters to them, not the quality of life/society.
  12. Conservatives MPs told to stay silent about draft suggesting Roe vs. Wade could be overturned WWW.THESTAR.COM It’s also not unusual for MPs to be instructed not to comment on international issues that have no immediate implications for Canada. Meanwhile, the Bloc Quebecois wants to force a motion in support of the existing status quo—there are no laws in place in Canada that relate to abortion, which means that it is legal with no restrictions. I would not be surprised to see this change in the next year or two, with a bill passed to solidify that lack of regulation into official law.
  13. Chuck Schumer Says Senate Will Vote On Bill To Codify Roe v. Wade WWW.HUFFPOST.COM The Senate majority leader intends to put senators on the record about abortion rights. lol such confidence:
  14. I know it's not true, but what if it turned out that it was like, Breyer who leaked it? Can a justice legally leak stuff like that? It's not like they can be removed (yes I know there is a mechanism to do so, but it won't happen). Like, just start spilling the beans on everything all the time! Tweet out when Gorsuch is taking a shit in the bathroom, leak details on every decision, etc. The entire SCOTUS is a mockery at this point, just make it all public.
  15. Are we predicting that it's Manchin or Sinema that prevents this from passing? Either the bill itself, or eliminating the filibuster to pass the bill? If the filibuster can't be removed to keep abortion rights in place when 70% of the US population supports it (including women, of course, the new base of the Democratic Party), then how to the Democrats expect to win in 2022 or 2024?
