It sounds like both. More importantly a new one.

 

For your information Virtua Fighter has been at previous Evos so it being an esports thing isn't a big deal. The thing that's exciting is they're doing something new with the game.

I would be over the moon if they made a new one, as its my favorite fighting game by far! I sometimes cheat on it with Soul Calibur, but compared to VF its just fluff!

I spent a good chunk of time playing 4E on PS2 it had Kumite mode and cool unlocks and stuff. Vanessa was pretty cool. Probably my favorite in the series next to 2.

So this news is a couple of days old but apparently this is the game and SEGA still wants to use confusing naming conventions so we don't know if this is a remaster or some sort of new version of this game.
