In this Star Wars™: Shatterpoint preview, we’re rounding off the gang from the Inquisitorius with a preview of the Fifth Brother and the Fourth Sister from the Jedi Hunters Squad Pack! Both of these characters are memorable Force-sensitive agents of the Dark Side committed to hunting down the last remnants of the nearly defeated Jedi Order.

Terrifying in both the scope and unfettered nature of its power and authority, the Inquisitorius is one of the most unique organizations in the Empire. It is committed to seeking out and destroying special threats, such as Force-sensitive rebels or the last of the Jedi who have gone into hiding. Tackling even diminished Jedi is no easy task, requiring special training, equipment, and individuals with strong wills and affinity for the dark side of the Force.

Many impressive individuals have served on the Jedi Council, but no one else has the combined poise, power, discipline, and formidable demeanor of Jedi Master Mace Windu, the subject of today’s Star Wars™: Shatterpoint preview.

Serving in the final days of the Republic Era, Mace Windu proved to be one of the greatest generals of the Jedi Order, a battlefield leader who earned the respect and reverence with which he was universally regarded. And though he showed a disdain for politics, Windu’s keen mind and instincts let him unravel sinister plots against his order; he was one of the few who eventually saw through the veils of lies erected by Supreme Chancellor Palpatine. Windu would be at the forefront of efforts to prevent the looming tragedy, and he came very close to singlehandedly forestalling the doom of the Jedi Order. He can be viewed as a Jedi paragon, an echo of Jedi Knights of a former era, when their purpose was unwavering, and their enemies could be confronted more directly.

Today’s Star Wars™: Shatterpoint preview takes a look at Savage Opress, one of the most formidable Force-sensitive Nightbrothers from Dathomir and younger brother of Maul. He is a powerful and aggressive combatant, one with the ferocity to threaten even Jedi Masters.

Opress was once a more ordinary Nightbrother, lacking a connection to the Force and, like most of these male clans, forbidden from practicing the magick of the dominant Nightsisters. His fighting prowess and seething anger caught the attention of Asajj Ventress during several grueling combat trials. Mother Talzin then subjected him to dark magicks to transform him into a brutal warrior with a powerful connection to the dark side of the Force. He would come to serve Count Dooku for a time, but his true loyalties are to Mother Talzin and his people on Dathomir. He would eventually be sent to recover his lost brother, Maul, who had been shattered by the Jedi and thought perished. After assisting Maul’s recovery, the brothers would pair up to seek revenge against Obi-Wan Kenobi, for whom they nursed a bitter grudge.

Today’s Star Wars™: Shatterpoint preview features one of the standout units of specialized forces deployed during the Clone Wars, the Advanced Recon Force, led by CT-411, a Clone Commander better known as “Ponds.”

For those who enjoy replicating historical squads, Commander Ponds and the ARF Clone Troopers are the perfect choice to accompany Jedi Master Mace Windu, as they did so ably in the Clone Wars. Together with Jedi Master Windu, Ponds and his ARF Clone Troopers participated in a number of key battles, including retaking the Twi’lek homeworld of Ryloth, as well as seeing action on Geonosis and Malastare.

Today’s Star Wars™: Shatterpoint preview features Cad Bane, Notorious Hunter, who is indeed one of the most famous and capable of the galaxy’s bounty hunters, which is saying something given the competition for that honor. Bane has a dark and sordid reputation for taking on sinister work, including jobs no one else wants to do.

Cad Bane has a special sort of swagger and confidence, necessary traits for tackling the most difficult jobs in the galaxy, such as hunting Jedi. It was this that earned him the enmity of several of the Jedi Order’s most formidable masters, including Obi-Wan Kenobi and Mace Windu. Cad Bane always walked the darker side of his profession, having established strong ties with Sith Lord Darth Sidious, and working with others like Lord Maul and various Hutts. Given his prominence and the nearly impossible targets he agreed to pursue, Bane saw the benefit of working with others, gathering an impressive rotating crew of fellow bounty hunters, some nearly as notorious as himself. One of the keys to Bane’s success is his impressive arsenal of versatile tools and gadgets, employed expertly to give him an edge against Force users.

Today’s Star Wars™: Shatterpoint preview allows us to take a look at one of the most fascinating leaders of the Galactic Republic, a woman who found herself at the center of events that would transform the Galaxy: none other than Queen Padmé Amidala!

hose who know the queen solely for her political gravitas, which was considerable, might make the mistake of thinking her a noncombatant. But in addition to being a superlative leader and public servant for the world of Naboo, Padme was very actively involved in battles to protect her world when the Trade Federation invaded. She would later be involved in numerous covert operations throughout the Clone Wars. And though she prefers peaceful solutions, she is always willing to take up arms when necessary to protect those she serves. It was her bravery as much as her intelligence which inspired the young Jedi, Anakin Skywalker, to fall in love with her and eventually to marry her in secret.

Aurra Sing's reputation as a skilled hunter and assassin is well-earned, and even the likes of Cad Bane and Hondo Ohnaka have sought her assistance from time to time.

Quote

This week’s Star Wars™: Shatterpoint preview features an assortment of capable bounty hunters who have proven the merits of working together in what is often a solitary profession. The most prominent of these hunters is the Palliduvan sniper Aurra Sing, whose resume is long and includes many impressive credentials.

Bounty hunting is a perilous if lucrative profession, and there is a modicum of professional courtesy among members of the guild. They may choose to team up when not instead undercutting one another or competing to be the first to get to a mark. Aurra Sing’s reputation as a skilled hunter and assassin is well-earned, and even the likes of Cad Bane and Hondo Ohnaka have sought her assistance from time to time. Aurra is more than willling to work with others, as long as the end result serves her own personal interests.

Both Aurra Sing and her Bounty Hunter peers prove quite flexibile as guns for hire thanks to sharing the Payday Reactive ability, which lets them temporarily gain a tag of an ally. Thus paid, they can briefly be treated as members of the same organization. Given many abilities are only effective on specific tags, this ability opens up a wide range of potential combat benefits, letting these bounty hunters fight ably for any side of a given conflict.

The Royal Handmaidens possess a deceptively peaceful guise despite being highly skilled and disciplined combatants. They are utterly committed to the protection of the planet’s royal family.

This Star Wars™: Shatterpoint preview examines some of the stalwart protectors of Naboo led by Sabé, a Royal Bodyguard. The Royal Handmaidens possess a deceptively peaceful guise despite being highly skilled and disciplined combatants. They are utterly committed to the protection of the planet’s royal family. Sent far afield to safeguard Queen Padmé Amidala, this group is as comfortable in combat as they are persuasive in politics.

The bond between Sabé and Queen Amidala is strong, and it is no coincidence that this Royal Bodyguard closely resembles her charge. Not only is Sabé leader of the Handmaidens who protect the queen, she periodically serves as a decoy and stand-in, allowing Padmé Amadala to take on other vital tasks while disguised. Even when Sabé appears unarmed she is ready to confront potential threats and is quite ready and willing to give her life to save her beloved queen. She is both a skilled marksman and lethal martial artist, carrying hidden weapons on her person that can be brought to bear at a moment’s notice.

Led by Sabé, these Loyal Protectors move as one to intercept danger, communicating with one another through subtle hidden gestures. Her Bodyguard Innate ability provides Cover to whichever Primary and Secondary characters she has been assigned to protect, so long as she is nearby. Because of this she most often prefers to keep close to her ward to help facilitate their combat actions.

  • Commissar SFLUFAN changed the title to Star Wars: Shatterpoint - "Beyond the Fall of the Jedi" Roadmap & Reveals

Shatterpoint sculpts continue to be great. As someone who got into FFG stuff when Imperial Assault came out, it's really interesting to see how far they and AMG have come. I know it's not AMG that makes Legends of the Dark, but the big ass Trogdor that comes in the expansion that just came out for that is so impressive. Or looking at the stuff in Legion before the split, it's wild to look at Diala Passil's sculpt, paint job and image stolen from Reddit:

MDzuCRP.jpeg

Lightsaber fused to her cloak / spine, her robes are a completely filled diaper, etc. And that came out less than ten years ago!

I think once Shatterpoint gets a few more mission types, it'll be cooking with gas.

Started assembling the core set this weekend. AMG has made some nice QOL improvements on their sprue bits compared to their Marvel Crisis Protocol launch core box. Captain Marvel had the fiddliest upper arm bit I'd ever seen, practically smooth on both glue points and maybe 1mm x 2mm. There's been none of that bullshit so far. Only bizarre thing was some of the tower assemblies, where you can drop the top in, but if you do that there's no space to put the top parts onto the tower. The instructions do show you sliding it into place, which is correct, but it also fits nicely and incorrectly if you drop it in. I'd wager some people fucked that up.

Arriving this November, Sabotage Showdown introduces the first of three mission packs designed and developed alongside the game's first several waves of releases.

Welcome! In today’s Transmission we are going to be talking about mission packs for Star Wars™: Shatterpoint and take a look at the first mission pack: Sabotage Showdown.

Arriving this November, Sabotage Showdown introduces the first of three mission packs designed and developed alongside the game’s first several waves of releases. Each mission pack in this original set plays off core concepts and ideas found across all three missions, ensuring players have a foundation of familiarity alongside the new tactical and strategic challenges each pack poses to their Strike Team construction and in game decisions. Additionally, this spacing allowed players time to learn and adapt to the unique gameplay of Shatterpoint, allowing us to introduce concepts in a way that didn’t overwhelm players with too much too soon, but instead, just like with the release schedule of squad packs, allowed them room to grow and explore the new experiences of Shatterpoint while still keeping the game fresh and exciting as new elements to explore are revealed with each new wave.

Sabotage Showdown throws players into a much tighter battle that is reminiscent of the battles we see fought amid a starcrusier’s reactor room, within the confines of a starship hanger, or around an enemy artillery emplacement. In addition to navigating the closer quarters and how that will impact the Units in their Strike Force, Sabotage Showdown also throws a new tactical layer on top of players Shatterpoint activations. Each Struggle card has a special Tactics ability listed beneath the Active Objective map. When a player chooses to activate a Unit with their Shatterpoint card, the chosen Unit gains the listed Tactic ability until the end of the turn.

This preview features perhaps the most iconic and unforgettable incarnation of Darth Vader as he was first revealed and witnessed in his full power as the foremost servant of the emperor. Here stands a powerful Sith in black armor who is as terrifying to officers of the Galactic Empire as to his adversaries among the Rebel Alliance.

As the Emperor’s Servant, Darth Vader becomes an ominous and implacable symbol, a warrior who does not seem like an ordinary living and breathing mortal, his body more machine than man. His terrifying demeanor is often enough by itself to force compliance, though he demonstrates no qualms at drawing on the Dark Side of the Force to punish any who dare to defy him. In this role, he takes to the fore of engagements against Rebel uprisings and  ruthlessly quashes any threats to the emperor, whether internal or external. Darth Vader has cast aside any lingering remnants of his former identity as Anakin Skywalker.

The transformation of Luke Skywalker over the span of his adventures would see him rise from the lowest origins to become the last hope of the destroyed Jedi Order.

This week, we’re featuring one of the most essential characters in the history of the Galactic  Empire and the Rebel Alliance: Luke Skywalker. This is Jedi Knight Luke Skywalker, when he has  begun to come into his full powers after spending time with Master Yoda on Dagobah.

The transformation of Luke Skywalker over the span of his adventures would see him rise from the lowest origins to become the last hope of the destroyed Jedi Order. Others had a hand in  bringing his talents to the fore, but the rapid development of his Force powers was remarkable. Obi-Wan had just begun to instruct Luke as a padawan when an unfortunate reunion with  Darth Vader would see the older master sacrifice himself to buy time for the others to escape the Death Star. And though the youth would later gain invaluable insights under Master Yoda’s  tutelage, visions of a terrible fate awaiting his friends prompted Luke to abandon his training early. Yet the Force proved to flow strongly through Luke, perhaps in part as a legacy of his unusual parentage but also his indomitable spirit, steadfast loyalty, and unwavering purpose.

The group is especially well suited to be led by Jedi Knight Luke Skywalker, ready to provide support as needed while infiltrating any lair of scum and villainy where the Rebel Alliance needs them.

Quote

This “Inside Job” preview is a particularly fun themed set of characters featuring the “Spy” tag, each in disguise as they had been for a caper at Jabba’s Palace on Tatooine, seeking to recover Han Solo after he was encased in carbonite to be handed over as a trophy to Jabba the Hutt. This includes Leia Organa disguised as the Ubese bounty hunter Boushh, Lando Calrissian in the uniform of one of Jabba’s guards, and the ever-adaptable R2-D2 transformed into a cocktail serving droid to take advantage of his hidden compartments to stow vital weapons, such as a certain Jedi’s lightsaber. The group is especially well suited to be led by Jedi Knight Luke Skywalker, ready to provide support as needed while infiltrating any lair of scum and villainy where the Rebel Alliance needs them.

Leia came into possession of Boushh’s armor with the assistance of Maz Kanata on the planet of Ord Mantell, after knocking the bounty hunter unconscious while in pursuit of information on the fate of recently captured Han Solo. Leia would use this disguise on more than one occasion, finding its size to be a reasonable match for her own stature and frame. This armor was perfect for deception, having been built to conceal Boushh’s features, with fully enclosed leather and a helmet equipped with a speech scrambler. The disguises employed by Lando and R2-D2 for the Inside Job are less elaborate and were more easily attained. R2-D2 does not generally find it difficult to avoid notice, given the disregard most people have for droids and the ubiquity of astromechs.

Today’s preview features one of the most enduring staples of the Galactic Empire: Stormtroopers, symbols of fear and oppression across the galaxy. Each squad of these elite soldiers is led by a capable and extremely loyal sergeant.

Immediately recognizable in their white armor, Imperial Stormtroopers are a reliable mainstay often seen accompanying higher ranking personnel and forming the vanguard of any significant engagement. Under the stern gaze of their sergeants, Stormtroopers are quite willing to march into a barrage of incoming fire to safeguard their superiors. While a variety of specialist Stormtroopers exist, even the basic Stormtroopers wear sealed armor that lets them comfortably endure a variety of hostile environments and their E-11 blasters are suited for nearly any engagement. In addition to serving as shock troops wherever conflict is anticipated, Stormtroopers also protect major ships like the Star Destroyers which serve as imposing reminders of the Empire’s might across the galaxy.

While the Rebels have faced down the tyrants of the Galactic Empire on countless worlds and environments, one could argue there is no purer expression of their spirit than what went down during the Battle of Endor. This conflict saw Leia Organa rising to embody the very essence of a Freedom Fighter, putting her life on the line to safeguard the future of Endor’s oppressed tribal peoples, helping these underdogs embarrass and defeat Imperial troopers at every turn despite the enemy’s advantages in numbers and firepower. The subsequent celebration brought Rebels and Ewoks together as members of the same tribe, their differences forgotten.

The time has come to preview some of the shortest but greatest heroes of the Battle of Endor, taking a closer look at Logray, the Bright Tree Shaman, and the cunningly fierce Ewok Trappers of his tribe.

Galactic history sometimes hinges on the most unlikely of events, among them the lead-up to the Battle of Endor, where desperate Rebel forces were sent to neutralize a shield facility protecting the nearly restored Death Star. Initial plans for this attack did not include the diminutive Ewoks native to this forest moon, disregarded by both sides of the conflict due to their primitive technology and tribal society. Though initial contact with Logray and his tribe was nearly disastrous, with several of the Rebels consigned to the stew pot, things turned around when the shaman became convinced of the divinity of the golden droid C-3PO. Eventually persuaded to join the fight, Logray and the warriors of his village proved to be formidable forest combatants, making use of clever traps and knowledge of the lay of the land to neutralize more technologically advanced Imperial soldiers and their battle vehicles. It would be a mistake to underestimate these fighters, particularly when defending their home. Logray is a highly capable support leader, well equipped to magnify the effectiveness of his Ewok warriors.

Today’s preview takes us back to the forest moon to take a closer look at several of the individuals responsible for enlisting the Ewoks to join the Battle of Endor and, as a result, lay the groundwork to defeat Emperor Palpatine and the Galactic Empire. That’s right, I’m giving all the credit for that victory to Wicket and our favorite pair of droids.

That’s right, I’m giving all the credit for that victory to Wicket and our favorite pair of droids.

The young but recklessly brave Ewok warrior named Wicket W. Warrick would prove to be a key component of the successful rebel attack on the Endor deflector shield generator compound. His involvement was nearly entirely by chance, having stumbled upon Leia Organa after a speeder chase and wreck in his home forest. Having already taken a disliking to the Imperials and eager to see them done in, he soon became friends with Leia and assisted in ambushing several patrols before returning to the Bright Tree village, which had already captured several other Rebels and was planning to add them to the dinner menu. Fortunately, some Jedi tricks by Luke Skywalker and an impressive performance by C-3PO prevented this catastrophe and soon the Ewoks and Rebels joined sides against their mutual enemy. Wicket is noteworthy for having already been planning ways to employ clever traps and ambushes to employ against the invading troopers, efforts that would prove vital to their eventual success.

For this preview we’re returning to the moon of Endor to talk about the growing arsenal of potent Ewok leaders and warriors of Bright Tree Village, featuring the great Chief Chirpa and his Ewok Hunters.

Bright Tree Village is a beautiful and fascinating place, perched high amid the trees of the forest moon and offering its inhabitants security amid a world whose wilds are filled with larger and extremely hostile creatures. Chief Chirpa has risen to a leadership position over his tribe, joining other elders in making sometimes difficult decisions to safeguard his people not only from wilderness beasts, but the encroaching soldiers of the Galactic Empire. The fate of Chief Chirpa and his tribe was significantly impacted by the arrival of prominent Rebels, including Leia Organa. Initially the chief agreed with Shaman Logray’s idea to sacrifice these newcomers, but he was persuaded by a demonstration of the Force by Luke Skywalker to at least hear their story. Chief Chirpa was quickly persuaded to accept the Rebels, even inviting them to become honorary members of the tribe, cementing an alliance that would lead to their mutual victory in the Battle of Endor.

In this preview we’re examining some of the most courageous clone troopers of the Galactic Republic: 104th Battalion’s Wolfpack Squad, led by Clone Commander Wolffe (designated CC-3636).

Wolffe is a scarred and grizzled veteran of the Clone Wars, having served Jedi Master and General Plo Koon against the Separatists. He has faced great loss in his time aboard the ironically named flagship The Triumphant, when nearly every clone trooper on the ship was killed by General Grievous, with Wolffe enduring as one of the few survivors. Perhaps for this reason, along with the example of Plo Koon, Wolffe has shown empathy and regard for his subordinates. The bonds between the various members of the Wolfpack and their leader are enduring, cemented amid some of the worst fighting of the Clone Wars. Among his other scars, Commander Wolffe lost his right eye in a clash with Sith Assassin Asajj Ventress, and had it replaced with a cybernetic replacement.

In this preview we’re taking a look at the wise and influential Jedi Master Plo Koon and a young Padawan Ahsoka Tano, whom he was responsible for discovering for the Jedi Order.

Plo Koon served on the ill-fated last Jedi High Council before its tragic fall to Order 66 in the final years of the Galactic Republic. He was counted among its most thoughtful and respected members, proving himself an able general in dozens of battles. Master Plo Koon was noted for his protectiveness of the clone troopers under his command, and he was witness to considerable tragedy during the Clone Wars, including the death of many of his Jedi peers during the Battles of Geonosis. Throughout his time with them, Plo Koon served the Order well, with one of his noteworthy accomplishments being bringing in a number of Force-sensitive youths as recruits. This included the discovery and recovery of a promising Togruta, Ahsoka Tano. While she was never his padawan, apprenticed instead to Anakin Skywalker, a strong bond was forged between the two. Plo Koon and Ahsoka had occasion to fight together on multiple occasions, including a mission to rescue Master Mace Windu and Anakin after a botched assassination attempt on them by bounty hunters.

Among those who trace their lineage to Mandalore, there is no greater villain than Moff Gideon, a high-ranking leader of the Galactic Empire who played a key role in the downfall of the Mandalorian people.

02282024_Transmission-Image_1.png

Quote

The surviving people of Mandalore have reason to remember Gideon, whose infamy predates his being elevated to the lofty title of Imperial Moff. Gideon was involved in the battles that saw the destruction of this world’s society and he is alleged to have been personally responsible for the deaths of thousands. Gideon plundered the ruins of Mandalore, seeking out certain legendary artifacts, most importantly the ancient Darksaber, which retains great symbolic importance to the surviving Mandalorians. When Gideon took charge of this sector as Moff, he continued to seek out anything that might increase his power or influence. One such line of inquiry led him to pursue “the Child,” later identified as Grogu, a powerful Force-sensitive youth. Gideon did not anticipate that the bounty hunter assigned this task would turn on his peers to protect and safeguard the Child, soon becoming a pernicious thorn in his side.

Amid a galaxy full of strange and interesting personalities, so be it of some distinction that Hondo Ohnaka has made himself unforgettable. He is a man who can be trusted to always place his own interests above anyone else. Always open to negotiations and a deal, Hondo has a knack for being in the right place and time to take advantage of those in need.

Quote

Hondo, Honest Businessman, as he thinks of himself, has often been given less flattering labels, particularly given his leadership over the Ohnaka Gang of Weequay pirates. He has had a lively career being accused of a wide variety of crimes, though he insists this is the natural consequence of his pure pursuit of profit. It is true he has saved lives as well as destroyed them, and certainly there are other pirates more ruthless and villainous. He has often found himself entering into temporary alliances with such legendary individuals as Anakin Skywalker, Obi-Wan Kenobi, or Ahsoka Tano. His reputation suffers from the occasional act of betrayal, such as reneging on a deal in progress for a better offer from the other side. To him, this is nothing personal, being just a matter of business priorities. His most vital priority is his own survival, and Hondo is a skilled if underhanded combatant toward that end.

A variety of fascinating, colorful, and lethal individuals have crossed paths with the Mandalorian, particularly during the fateful mission that would forever change his destiny. Among those who would find themselves an unwitting part of this drama would be Greef Karga and the Assassin Droid IG-11.

Bounty Hunter work has always been a risky trade. The Bounty Hunter Guild has endured and prospered by being pragmatic with its people, understanding sometimes they need to be replaced. Some high-profile jobs might demand a degree of redundancy, even when the Bounty Hunters would prefer to handle things alone.

Greef Karga worked originally as an expediter for the Guild on Nevarro, being a middle-man who would link up Bounty Hunters with their paying clients. In this capacity he got right in the middle of the Mandalorian’s botched job involving the acquisition of Grogu, and would eventually assist Din Djarin in surviving this mess, later going on to rise to the role of magistrate and proving to be a loyal friend and ally. The deadly Assassin Droid IG-11 would find himself on a messier course to assisting the Mandalorian after enduring heavy damage that left his loyalties and purpose confused and vulnerable to being overwritten. These droids possess not only an impressive arsenal of firepower but also last-ditch fail-safes designed to take down their enemies with them, should they be defeated or at risk of capture.

Amid the ongoing attempts by the Galactic Empire to create the perfect soldiers, various experiments and training regimens have been attempted. Moff Gideon has been at the helm of several notable attempts to create especially formidable stormtroopers and combat droids, resulting in the Death Troopers and Dark Troopers, both favored for his own operations. Death Troopers are the older of these two efforts, a specialized force of elite stormtroopers encased in dark black stormtrooper armor to aid in stealth and terror operations. Rarely deployed in large numbers, these soldiers were sometimes used as bodyguards and escorts for high-ranking officers such as moffs, directors, generals, and admirals. More often they were dispatched on priority commando missions including those initiated by the secretive Imperial Security Bureau and its subordinate Advanced Weapons Research division, which Gideon served with during the Purge of Mandalore.

While these soldiers proved their capabilities in many vital operations, Moff Gideon was left unsatisfied by the human factor which resulted in inevitable moments of unpredictability. Dark Troopers were engineered as a more advanced type of combat droid intended to serve in similar roles as Death Troopers, resembling them in battle. Moff Gideon was actively involved in improving these killing machines, using his authority to seize local assets to create experimental variants with augmented durability, such as incorporating Beskar alloys in Dark Trooper armor. Ongoing debate persists regarding whether these technologies are better employed on droids or elite trooper battle armor. A useful compromise has been attaching a veteran Death Trooper Escort to lead a squad of Dark Troopers, thereby gaining the benefits of both.

The turbulent history of the Bad Batch has had many ups and downs as both their circumstances and the political landscape around them shifted. They served for a time in the army of the Galactic Republic, but the bloody transformation to Galactic Empire saw their world turned upside down.

Arising from the same clone vats of the watery world of Kamino as millions of others, the Bad Batch was a result of unusual genetic experiments. Each trooper possesses an unusual mutation bestowing unique battle capabilities. Each member of Force 99 bears a simple nickname embodying their role in the squad. Hunter possesses extraordinarily keen senses that augment his situational awareness and make him a superlative tracker. His implacable demeanor also serves him well as the squad leader. We have Wrecker, whose freakish strength well suits his role as bruiser and literal wrecking ball. Lastly the most extreme outlier, Omega, a clever youth adopted into the group for her own protection, though she too began life as a genetic experiment within the Kamino clone vats.

Piracy is an unavoidable risk on the more remote galactic trade routes, and certain groups are infamously skilled at this dangerous trade, among them various Weequay Pirates. The most famous of these belong to the Ohnaka Gang headed by Hondo, who relies on his right-hand lieutenant, Gwarm.

War is always profitable, and that’s certainly true for pirates such as Hondo, Gwarm, and their predatory gang. Throughout the Clone Wars, ships of Weequay Pirates prowled the edges of conflicts seeking opportunities to intercept and loot isolated or disabled ships. These gangs are equal opportunity, as willing to steal from the Galactic Republic as the Separatists wandering into the wrong sector. Their interest in profit above all else means they can sometimes be negotiated with and hired as mercenaries, though ones of dubious reliability. For his part, Gwarm prefers to leave the deal-making and extortion to his boss, Hondo, being more focused on keeping unruly subordinates in line. Cruel by nature, Gwarm particularly enjoys bullying the weak and defenseless, and his pirates follow his example. But when backed into a corner, they are well armed and more than capable of defending themselves.

The warrior known as the Mandalorian (sometimes referred to more simply as “Mando”) makes a striking impression wearing the iconic Beskar helmet and stark armor of his people, armed to the teeth and ready for anything. His imposing demeanor is slightly undermined when accompanied by the floating egg-like vehicle containing his adorable young ward, Grogu.

This pair represents one of the strangest team-ups in Galactic memory, one that proves the powerful bonds forged when lives are on the line. Before meeting Grogu, Din Djarin had earned a name for himself as an implacable bounty hunter, a profession not uncommon among the survivors of Mandalore. Raised in a more orthodox and traditional sect of his people, he lives by a strict religious code which includes keeping his face hidden from others.

His fate changed when given the assignment of recovering “the Child,” a young lifeform later identified as Grogu, deemed of great interest for his powerful Force sensitivity, sought by a shadowy client who revealed himself to be Moff Gideon. Uncowed by his high standing in the Galactic Empire, the Mandalorian proved unwilling to turn this youth over to be experimented upon. This created an escalating clash against both Moff Gideon and the Bounty Hunter Guild to which he had belonged. Din Djarin was forced to go rogue and take on all comers to carve out a place for himself and Grogu as a family clan of two. The pair has endured by dint of stubborn resolve, clever pragmatism in battle, and a capacity to make friends and allies in unlikely places.
