@atom631 I'm really sorry to hear that. Same thing happened to my wife a year or two ago. Came home normal one night, by the evening I had to call an ambulance because she collapsed. Checked out fine at hospital. Her mom recommended she get checked for lymes after the hospital failed to find anything. Turned out positive. They think she had it for many years undiagnosed and when she collapsed she was in the middle of a big flare up (high fever, feeling like the flu).  It's pretty well managed at home now with diet and exercise though. Little things have changed with her body. She'll get random pain in her thighs and feet. Occasionally her jaw locks up while chewing. There are specialists out there that can help, the problem is finding a good one and dealing with months long wait times to be seen.

The lyme test is weird and near impossible to read if youre not a Dr. Theres all these different bands of lyme apart of the trst. When my Dr called she told me I 100% have lyme’s bc my antiobodies were extremely high, but its too early to tell which specifics bands I have. She said in a few weeks Ill need to test again and it will probably tell a clearer story.

the only band that showed up was 41Kd, which is signs of an older infection. So maybe it’s possible ive had it and this is just a bad flare up. Suck this happened but im glad I was able to get diagnosed, bc not know what the hell was going on sucked.

@SaysWho? Did you lose smell/taste? A lot of my symptoms have cleared up today, the cough is especially better. But I was not prepared to lose my smell and taste. It's like 100% gone now. I just shaved my face and have 2 strong aftershaves I like. Can't smell a hint of either of them. Chewing mint gum and I can feel the sensation of burning mint on my tongue but no mint taste.

I did not, though there was a time when my gf felt she wasn't able to taste much. She's fine now, but she was eating salad and said it tasted like nothing. It was REALLY weird because even though I know about the loss of smell/taste for some people, I can't imagine what it's like to just feel random stuff in your mouth with no taste to go with them.

Highjacking the thread with this bullshit…I was sick AF for like 8 days. Finally feeling better…but during it I went to the walk-in clinic and the ER bc I was having crazy chills, bodyaches, super high fever, sweats, headaches and joint pain.

4 Covid tests, 2 flu tests and a whole bunch of other shit and they couldnt figure it out. Went to my primary care Dr and they decided to test me for lyme disease….. welp, I have lymes. :s

im now on doxycycline which is making me nauseous AF. Made me puke. Looks like I have a long summer of dr visits, monitoring and testing.

but at least is not covid!

When I was young, I found a tick buried in my chest. My mom had to use tweezers to dig it out. My mom, who is a retired nurse, swore I had Lymes when I started to nap all the time. Even after a doctor would say no, she kept escalating it to another doctor. She finally got an appointment with a Lyme specialist. At this point, she had a mountain of tests and documents. Doctor looked at it and said “yea that is Lymes”. Got started on treatment and had no serious symptoms due to catching it early. I will always be grateful to my mom for not stopping.

@SaysWho?Do you still have any symptoms? It’s so weird how it messes with everyone differently. I have this annoying headache that comes and goes. Kind of creeps up the back of my head. I rarely ever get headaches so I notice this one. Cough is almost totally gone along with mucus. I think because of the occasional headache and not being able to smell/taste it was really messing with me mentally. Head just feels out of it sometimes. Have to keep reminding myself it’s only been 8 days since first testing positive. It’s normal right? I’m a worrier haha.

I have no symptoms, but my girlfriend just tested negative today even though she still felt slightly weird. Everybody reacts differently. One of my friends just got it and lost her sense of smell and taste. It took me 13 days from my first positive test to test negative again, and it took my girlfriend about 10 or 11. You are very close to the end.

also, there is a slight possibility you could test positive for several weeks or a few months, even if you’re no longer contagious. However at that point all you need to do is get a certificate of recovery from your doctor which is just as good as a negative test.

Wtf is a certificate of recovery lol

A certificate of recovery is your doctor confirming that you recovered. Since some people can still test positive months afterwards but not be contagious (I’m guessing the test could be detecting dead Covid maybe?), you need something other than a negative test to confirm that you can travel. Cruise lines want to make sure that you have a negative test prior to boarding, but if you’ve tested positive for weeks, then you need a certificate of recovery from your doctor instead.
