Judge strikes down California law that mandated women be on company boards

It was shit law from a conservative point of view, and it was a shit law from an LGTBQ point of view as well.

LOS ANGELES (AP) — A Los Angeles judge has ruled that California’s landmark law requiring women on corporate boards is unconstitutional. Superior Court Judge Maureen Duffy-Lewis said the law that would have required boards have up to three female directors by this year violated the right to equal treatment.

I do think something like the Rooney Rule should be in place when it comes to high level corporate positions. The frequent lament about potentially unqualified minority candidates getting interviews or positions is kinda telling on the the people who make it. I don't think quotas are necessarily the way to handle it but is in the best interest of society to not have corporate executive culture almost entirely inhabited by men, and that group largely white.
