Microsoft Local Co-Op FPS Campaign on Xbox Series X?

Alright Xbox players, need your help. A buddy of mine recently picked up an Xbox Series X and is looking for games to play with his girlfriend. They like playing co-op together, primarily a "campaign" within an FPS. Are there any games like that available on Series X?

 

They've enjoyed playing Call of Duty games together before, but local co-op seems a rather rare feature nowadays. 

 

Also; when they play together locally, is there any way they can chat together while wearing headphones? They like their games loud (but don't want to disturb nearby neighbors) so they use headsets. But then they can't hear each other...can they not use in-game chat while playing local multiplayer?
