  1. Greenwarish herbs in your inventory heal if yoy don't have a mage that heals you. The herbs are a basic healing item along with most food and you can craft a bunch of different concoctions and recipes to heal even further.
  2. Maybe it's certain inns? or maybe you're not leveled up enough to upgrade a vocation? I've definitely done it a couple of times. But yeah some Inns you can't stay at or manage inventory which is confusing. There's an Inn in the main town where the only options you get is buy drinks for everyone
  3. This sounds more like pure incompetence... he said that Capcom put the microtransaction info in the review materials but he didn't open that because he didn't want to be spoiled on anything in the game and he didn't want to be subconsciously influenced. HOWEVER, another reviewer pointed out to him that Capcom sent all reviewers a seperate PDF labled "PAID DLC" that detailed the microtransactions and that the info wasn't in the review materials. Cordon and other reviewers didn't bother to read ANY of this stuff and thena cted all surprised and butt hurt when Capcom "tried to pull a fast one" Anyway, I met the Minotaur someone mentioned earlier... he joined in as I was already fighting a group of goblins and Saurians and wiped my whole party out Do these different monsters attack each other? I fought the griffin a couple of times but it runs whenever you hurt it too badly. It can't deal with fire attacks.
  4. I haven't had any framerate drops in the main town but what I HAVE had is people just materializing in front of me out of thin air as I move through the town. That happens quite a bit. But honestly aside from a couple of cinematics, I haven't noticed any framerate dips or long load times... playing on the series X.
  5. C'mon @best3444 this game was NEVER presented as a grahics showcase. You can go back in this thread and see several people make that point myself included. I think you even responded to to a couple of posts commenting on the graphics. While they are not cutting edge, UGLY is a very strong word. And like other Team Ninja games, I expect this will be a timed exclusive. Nioh was a Sony exclusive as well when it came out. Nioh 2 and Wo-long weren't though.
  6. Also Jez Cordon later tweeted that Capcom DID inform reviewers in the review materials that these microtransactions would be in the game... he just didn't bother to read the material Gaming "Journalism" at its finest. I would post the actual tweet here but it's from the banned site.
  7. Can your share Pawns across platforms? Also has anyone been out at night in the game yet? There were different enemies at night in the first game. Lastly I can't find the storage in the main town... the one inn there doesn't seem to have storage.
  8. What level are you guys? I leveled up a couple of times before I even set out for the city... I'm around level 9 and I took the cyclops out on the first try with ease. But yeah like @Keyser_Soze You're gonna get ganked because some big ass monster may appear out of nowhere while you're fighting trash mobs. Just run if you can.
  9. What killed you? I got to the main city as well. Game is tough and in the first game you were encouraged to run if you were outmatched.
  10. So apparently Capcom DID inform reviewers they were going to do this and reviewers just didn't mention it themselves? @JPDunks4 you want to clarify?
  11. I played up until the title screen and liberated one village after that. Combat is great in the way that you can approach the encounters pretty much the way you want. So far combat doesn't seem as in depth as NIoh or Wo-Long but it's pretty satisfying. I'm digging it but I'm not very far... I may have just unlocked the horse though. First thing I did was change the language to Japanese because the English was kinda painful. Story is intriguing though... gonna be hard to split time between this and DD2. Master the parry... it's going to be useful.
  12. The first game had limited fast travel as well and while some people didn't like this aspect it didn't ruin the game at all. The game director really doesn't like it and has said so repeatedly so this is his compromise I guess. As with most of the stink about microtraactions in games, the stink that online trolls raise is largely overblown. However, the way Capcom snuck this into the game after reviews were up without even a mention that they were going to do this is pretty damn shady unless I missed something. Not the best look and I suspect this is something corporate forced on the game and not anything the designers intended. Anywhoo... doesn't affect me so, back to the game.
  13. Cliff B has said numerous times that Resident Evil 4 was one of the influences for Gears of War... here's one place he talks about it. GDC 07: Cliffy B disassembles Gears, mentions sequel - GameSpot WWW.GAMESPOT.COM [UPDATE] Lead designer chronicles a game's evolution from the first-person shooter "Unreal Warfare" to the best-selling third-person Gears of... He also mentions Kill switch as well, but I forgot about that game ( along with everyone else) and it's on NO one's lists for greatest games of all time and wasnt what we were talking about. So yeah, I don't know what the confusion is. RE4 was both a great game for its time and it was influential. Are the controls dated? Yes. So are tank controls. Doesn't negate how great the game was at the time it came out.
  14. Yes the game is pretty smooth on my TV and I'm not even using performance mode. There's some real Game of Thrones intrigue going on here plot wise though... just got to the main town.
  15. Damn this game is good... They improved on everything from the first game and expanded on it. Looks and pays great too. They added so much dialogue that wans't in the first game. My party comp is me, Thief, two fighters (hirelings) and my main pawn, a mage. i originally made her a fighter but changed it when I started the game.
