  1. Finally getting the hang of the combat in this and Hit level 10 tonight. Having a blast wandering the countryside killing bandits and getting into fights. I haven't advanced the story yet because I'm still trying to figure out which side I want to pick, pro or anti-shogunate. I'm finally at a point in the story where I have to pick a side.
  2. I hope the final game moves a little faster than this but otherwise I'm in. Seems like the perfect evolution of the Max Payne-esque third person action shooter.
  3. Written and directed by Cabin in The Woods writer Drew Goddard and Executive Produced by Lana Wachowski. New ‘Matrix’ Movie In The Works At Warner Bros From Drew Goddard DEADLINE.COM 'The Matrix' New Movie to be Directed, Written by Drew Goddard Hopefully it's an entirey new take with new characters and stars.
  4. Just play the game in whatever way you find enjoyable. There's no wrong way to play it... except whatever the hell @BloodyHell was doing
  5. So the way I did that quest was in this order; I did all of that without a guide... it helps once you discover there's a back way into the prison that opens out into the slums. Stealth is pretty bad in this though. It works pretty much by line of sight which is fine, but there's no crouch walk or sneaking animation so you can give yourself away just by unintentionally moving too fast. If they were going to have stealth missions they should have included that functionality.
  6. Me neither. Pretty sure I'm playing graphics mode... I have TV that supports VRR though. I notice some frame rate dips but nothing too dramatic. What I really notice are people a teleporting into view out of thin air when I'm running through town. That's distracting.
  7. I got to the town right before you cross the border last night Still haven't crossed yet. Got a couple of quests there I want to do first.
  8. Like I said earlier, I never played Monster Hunter and only tried that series after playing Dragon's Dogma and didn't really like it. But yeah, once you start playing the game the way it's meant to be played and not like a whole different game in the genre, you'll get the hang of it. It ain't that deep. You don't even really have to "aim" at an enemy. The character will always attack the closest thing to them unless you move in a different direction. It's pretty simple.
  9. What's weird is you're somehow playing a different game than everybody else here. I mean you're the one person asking for a lock on button but also complaining about attacks passing through enemies... maybe it ain't the game. Maybe it's YOU. I'm not saying the game is perfect, but honestly to me a lot of the "problems" I see people are having with this game is that it's literally doing it's own thing when it comes to mechanics that a lot of people aren't used to because they want and are trying to play this game like OTHER games in the genre which it does not do. What's a little annoying for me, is that there were PLENTY of videos that said this before the game came out, the first game did a lot of the same things this one is doing and was nowhere near as well recieved (some of the folks raving about this game in this topic were some of the biggest detractors of the first game) and some of the questions and confusion that people have in this game, are answered by the game itself. All it requires paying attention and or reading the in game Enyclopedia. I come into this topic wanting to discuss the game and no offense to anybody, I see a bunch of dumb assed questions and comments and I roll my eyes and go back to playing the game. I've even posted videos to try and help folks out that are struggling... nope "I'd rather complain and make reductive comments about PS3 graphics or whatever" and people wonder why activity on this board is dwindling...Sigh. Post what what you want bro, and I promise this will be the last time I comment on one of your posts regarding this game. I have no idea what game you're playing or why you'r having such a different experience than most everybody else but I'd suggest, taking a break and playing something or or just putting the game down. Why suffer through soemthing you're clearly not enjoying? it ain't fun for you or anybody else. Anyway, back to the game... has anyone figured out if you can share pawns across platforms?
  10. I killed one drake but that was with the help of pretty much a whole town. The second drake I fought ran off once we got one of it's health chunks down.
  11. Damn then you sure got got buying such a terrible game with terrible controls the majority of players playing it don't seem to have a problem with. If i were you I'd try to get my money back. There's some control tweaks here for people with ten thumbs or something.
  12. Game is fine without a lock on. Not every game needs to play like every other game. Do the Monster Hunter games have lock on? I don't remember.
  13. Actually you should... it's a deliberate game design just like the fast travel. 1. Eat those Golden Beetles when you see them. They increase your carry capacity and there's also a ring that does the same thing. 2. Hire physically bigger pawns, they can carry more stuff. 3. Don't pick up everything and store/craft/sell stuff everytime you go to town. They had the same mechanic in the first game and you learn to deal with it. Anywhoo I switched to Archer for that one mission last night and played around with it for a bit, it was okay but I prefer the way it was in the first game where archer and thief were one class called The Strider. Best combination of melee and ranged in gaming... NO IDEA why they thought splitting them was a good idea. Archer by itself just doesn't seem that fun. Which is why i switched back to thief as soon as i finsihed that Elf archer mission. Later I found and unlocked the Mystic Spearhand vocation and I've been playing with that vocation ever since. Think I'm gonna stick with that until I max it out. lastly I watched this video this morning... GREAT video with tips I never would have thought of that make perfect sense when you think about it. gameplay is so great in this game.
  14. The only reason I bought that last Monster Hunter game at launch was BECAUSE of Dragon's Dogma and it didn't click with me. The crafting is similar in both games and the unique monsters but the combat in DD is better in my opinion for the reasons you stated. And I don't know how far folks are storywise, but this game's main story is way better than the first game and I'm actually interested in seeing how it turns out. And I have no idea how any reviewer beath this game in 20 hours unless they just mainlined the story quests and that's it.
  15. All I'll say is that gameplaywise, I'm interested in this game. But would I feel weird if say, my mom or sister or nieces or female friends walked in and saw me playing it? Yes. Kudos to you if you wouldn't That said, the campiness of this game does remind me of something like Barberella or old Russ Meyer movies. But yeah, I'd check this out cheap at some point.
  16. This movie sucked. Like big time sucked... makes the original look like The Godfather. I'm legit baffled how they could have fucked this up so badly... and Connor Mcgregor was TERRIBLE. I don't know what fucked him up worse, the coccaine or the steroids. What's crazy is I'm typing this and the movie is STILL ON. I have maybe 40 minutes left? I doubt it's gonna get better. We'll see... EDIT: I was right. It did NOT get better... Peter Griiffen does NOT approve.
