  1. Mostly just idiot customers. I work on A/V equipment that runs from local news broadcast to Netflix, Fox ,CNN to film studio equipment. Its very expensive and it tends to be very fragile. People treat the equipment like shit and then get mad when a they get a bill for 20k for 2 hours of work. Had a film crew run a 30k camera into a windshield while filming a stunt, then get mad when the unit is unrepairable. I have had television studios send in a unit for repair, I fix it, they return it saying it wasnt fixed and raise hell. We track the equipment when it comes in, we could tell they switched the outer casing of the fixed unit with another broken one so they could get both for free.

We also have a form the customer fills out telling us what happened to unit. The response range from "dont know, dont work" to a "meth head kicked our camera" to "Fat kid fell on camera man"

Also to add one thing I keep circling back to with some of these Arthouse Horror flicks. Many seem to be essentially semi-inept rehashes of Repulsion and Rosemary's Baby. To me, a movie like Men is to Repulsion what a movie like X is to Texas Chainsaw Massacre. I get everything, especially at this stage, is heavily influenced by something but there's something extra annoying to me about blatant "template movies" that also fail at it. And not, I don't think Men for example is a 100% rip of the aforementioned either but just something that kept nagging me.

I think there is a difference. X proudly wears its love and devotion to TCM and Hooper on its sleeves.  Films like Men and Hereditary want to be Polanski worship but wouldnt dare utter his name. It drives me nuts.

I thought it did good job of introducing the characters to us, setting up the various relationships and subverting expectations with the "twist" at the end of the episode. It accomplished all of that without being overly expository and just kind of drops us in to these characters lives without treating it as a "pilot" episode. I'll probably finish it over the next day or so.

    Agreed

They treat it like a short story. The writers assume you either know the lore/world or at least familiar enough with something close to it that they don't have to bog down the series with a in depth back story. They also give you snippets of the larger world through conversations or brief flashbacks. I burned through all the episodes in day , a big reason for this was not having to trudge through several episodes of bullshit to get to the good stuff.

  4. I am firmly in the camp of "mind your fucking business".

If you wanna do rails of powered Clorox off the titties of your waifu pillow in the basement while blowing your paycheck on the latest gatcha game, you do you.

Tobacco has been in the sights of public outrage for a while now. Society has these swings in perception of whats ok and anything outside of those perceived views needs to be abolished.

Fans previously wanted the actor to play Spidey in 'The Amazing Spider-Man.'

I have no idea who this character is :p Sony seems DETERMINED to single handedly kill the superhero movie trend right now between this and Bad Bunny's movie... also based on an obscure Spiderman character.

I feel like both of these movies are corporate built using the premise of "obscure characters" aka The Guardians Of The Galaxy success.

It's that time again!  Time for dumb PC questions.

So GOG's pretty much been my bff for the past few months and I'm enjoying a lot of older RPG's and such that I didn't catch the first time around (or I did, but it was a shitty console port). Anyways.... a lot of them I've been playing in stretched view because they only support 5:4. On top of that it just looks kinda crappy because it's not native resolution.

Anyways, I was digging around in a lot of my old shit at my mom's house and I found my old HP computer in a box, complete with my old 1280x1024 monitor. It's has a vga hookup, naturally, but I was wondering....

If I bought an adapter for my PC, which supports 3 outputs.. would I be able to hook it up as a third monitor and output the game to that monitor at native resolution, while still having my other monitors at 1080p? or would it fuck all three? A lot of times I'm running Youtube or have a browser open on the other screen while I'm playing a game, and I was just wondering if my GPU is capable of outputting multiple resolutions at once.

Shouldnt be an issue. Dragging windows between the monitors when they are different resolutions can be a little weird though. I have 4k monitor and 1440p monitor at the same time.

I think I might go for this model also. I was looking at the Panasonic DP-UB820-K since it also had some great reviews and was 20% off on Amazon ($397), but its Blu-rays are region locked to Region A, and a significant portion of my Blu-rays were purchased in Germany (Region B).  I knew DVDs could be region locked, but I could have sworn I had read that Blu-rays were region free by default. :/

4k aren't but blu rays are.

Yea, I mean the game is extremely good but imo the second half of it hasn't been as good as the first. By know means am I saying it's bad in anyway. It's better than 2018 and is an awesome game.

Early on it was heading into the direction of maybe one of my top 5 games ever. It slowed down a bit but I hope the ending really impresses me. Overall, it's been fuckin fantastic.

I agree with this but Ill go a step a further and say the latter half of the game really shows the games overall weakness. The pacing of the story becomes a slog to get through. Sections of the game feel extremely drawn out, while the combat "feels" good ,so many enemies are just walking sponges that barely register having their face smashed in with an axe. Not sure why they removed combat mechanics from the first game but its overall worse. They need to get rid of the "puzzles", feels like a couple of window lickers designed them. And FFS they could have named this GOW: Tiny Passage Simulator.

There are sections where you crawl into an arena , fight, then crawl out though another tiny passage just to go to hall, where surprise surprise ends with a tiny passage.

Game started out as 9 but half way its barely a 7 for me. At this point I am just playing because I am bored.
