I'm very curious to know about 1st/3rd person details for Indy.  Really hoping they don't just try to make it an answer to Uncharted.

Last year's show was great, I love the format Microsoft is using now.

I would actually be 100% ok if it was an Uncharted rip. An Uncharted game but set in the 1930's with that musical score and really loud "wpshhh!" sounds when I punch someone? Yes, please.

    But that's just me.

  2. Most of the games I played in 2023 weren't actually from 2023... but I did manage to get in a few. Here goes, in no particular order...

Remnant II (haven't beat it yet, but it's my new addiction)

    RE4 Remake

Alan Wake II (just started this one, but I'm a few chapters in and the presentation so far is off the charts)

    Diablo IV

....Jeezus is that it? I have a few in my backlog, I just picked up Dead Island 2 on one of the holiday sales, but I haven't even started it yet.

It's a pretty well made AAA quality game but for whatever reason it couldn't hold my interest. I think it's because it seemed more like a game as a service/cash grab and that's where Destiny lost me as well. Games like that aren't meaningful to me in the long run. They only want me to play long term for my hard earned denaros

I can totally get the lack of interest. Personally, I think the fact that Sanctuary is overall a pretty miserable place kinda paints them into a corner. They need to inject some life into the world and make it more interesting, but they literally can't without breaking their own lore. All of the towns and villages are just one miserable hovel after another, there's no respite. And while that's great in the scope of the game, it's a bit of a downer and I do find it hard to stay interested in something that literally has one tone the entire time.

It's why I could only watch Game of Thrones for one or two episodes at a time, or why I never finished Plague Tale: Requiem.

What the hell did I just play? Usually when I play one of these Diablo-like ARPG's, they're either really good and stand on their own, or they're average copy/paste clones, or they just flat out suck. This was a weird one that had a lot of promise and was great 90% of the way through, but just kinda fell apart at the end.

  5. We just got through something called The Chimney last night. It was actually kind of a cheese, though. He died early and I was going a pretty good job of getting down to the bottom dodge-rolling past everything, but I died right as the crystal was hitting the bottom and when we respawned it sayed the quest was completed. So we just walked to the bottom and collected our reward lol.

I'll take anything I can get in this game.

This is either bs or his mom's a moron. "Oh look, my son's flailing his arms wildly, let me walk right in front of him."

Also, which is it bro, did you punch her in the face, or does she have a bump on her head? Did you punch her on the head? Is she four feet tall?

  7. I liked the series a lot, but I hated Dead Rising 4. I honestly can't even really say what's wrong with it, but the whole thing felt "off."

I did really like Dead Rising 3 though, even though it was a decent departure from the first two. I think it hit that sweet spot of being just different enough to be fresh, but still feel like Dead Rising.
