Cool concept, but hitting monsters with a handful of weeds just isn't that exciting. Who knew?

    Spoiler

From the get-go, the place and the people seem creepy, as most spiritual hippies do. You know the kind. The ones that are just a little too “into it.” The ones that have to thank the bees for their honey, or keep yapping about their aura.

It turns out, the aura is an important factor on this island, because their cleansing consists of a chant that summons an alternate dimension full of creatures that feed on negative energy.

Creatures that feed on negative energy, on an island with people who all have emotional baggage? What could go wrong?

  2. Happy Late Thanksgiving!

We hosted for the first time in a while, and I remembered just how fucking exhausting prepping Thanksgiving dinner could be. And all I did was cook the turkey, squash, green bean casserole, cranberry sauce, and make a dessert. Everyone else brought the rest. I don't know how the hell my mom cooked an entire meal in a tiny ass kitchen all by herself, year after year.

You can buy there gift cards all over. Best Buy, Gamestop, Walmart etc etc. Been that way for a while. Unless I'm not understanding what youre implying..

I don't even know what exactly it was, so I could be wrong. I just remembered something about their store being the only place you could get something. It was a few months ago so it could be completely unrelated to this.

    Spoiler

Move over, Nathan Drake! Step aside Indiana Jones! Back the **** off, Lara Croft! It’s time for Allan Quater- I mean JAMES Quatermain to have his time in the spotlight.

My earliest memories of Allan Quatermain were from being a kid in the 80’s and watching Richard Chamberlain play the role of the famous adventurer. He starred in two movies, King Solomon’s Mines and Allan Quatermain and the Lost City of Gold.

Now, these books date back to the 1800’s and were most likely the inspiration for Indiana Jones, but as a kid all I could think was, “WTF is this Indiana Jones knockoff shit?”

But enough about that, because this isn’t even about Allan Quatermain. It’s about his great-grandson James, who not only never existed in the books, but also for whatever reason, is American....

Deadfall Adventures was entertaining for all the wrong reasons....

  5. I actually had mine shipped to my mom's house because UPS is notorious for delivering shit to the wrong houses in my neighborhood. We have a neighborhood FB group and people are constantly posting on there asking if anyone received a package that wasn't theirs.

Just the other day I received a package on my doorstep. My house number is 12307, and my neighbor's is 12305. This package had 12306 on it, which is across the street. I was like, "really UPS? you of all people should know that houses don't go in numerical fucking order on the same side of the street." On top of that, it's 2023 and I know you have a GPS in that fucking van.

  6. I've had a Steam profile for at least a decade, but I never used it until I got a gaming rig last year. I have always thought of it as an island, meaning when I'm playing it I'm usually isolated from any kind of social interaction. Like my Switch.

I've never really thought of it as a platform, just a launcher for my old PC games. But since I will have a dedicated device now, I suppose I should treat it as such. I've set up my profile for the first time in 10+ years.

If anyone wants to add me to their friends list, my friend code is 130902846.

And yes, I have a few hentai games in my list. I'm not ashamed.

I think it’s worth playing as long as you know what you are getting into. The combat feels fantastic. But damn there is a lot of vent crawling.

I was going to call it a "falling simulator" because of how many ledges/ladders/platforms collapse from under the guy right before he reaches whatever he's trying to get to. It literally happens like, five times.

  8. I hate that I want to play this game, because I've tried the series multiple times and could never get into them. But it's so batshit wacky and unlike anything anyone else is putting out right now.

I do kinda wish I could play through the stories of all the games without some of the extra stuff. Like, I liked Yakuza 0 well enough until I had to start managing the night club. I hated that shit and it killed my interest in the game.

  9. Three years into the console's life, the Xbox One was probably already seeing a pretty chunky price drop, especially with the One X on the horizon. Plus it was a pretty good media player compared to the PS4 and all of its DRM shit. You could play pretty much anything you wanted on an XBO. I still use it as a media box.

Also, considering MS has pretty much thrown in the towel on console sales and focused more on publishing to PC and Game Pass, their revenue is still up year over year.

Not defending MS, just curious why people even care about console sales when MS themselves pretty much admitted they couldn't win in that area. All it is, is fanboy fuel. It doesn't even mean anything anymore.

I know MS has committed to another console generation, but I really am expecting them to drop hardware altogether and go full third-party. It probably won't happen until Phil retires, but it will happen.
