Invading the Baltics would likely trigger WWIII. Putin's only other opportunity for expansion is probably Moldova. Even Finland, which is not a NATO member, would be a redline for the Western military powers.

I wonder if Ukraine still has the capability to shoot down these aircraft at this point? Surely, Russia hasn't destroyed all of Ukraine's anti-air defense systems.

"Declaration of war against the whole of Europe." Very strong words from Zelensky. It won't, but maybe it should, be a casus belli for neighboring NATO nations to intervene, at least in/around Chernobyl.

Without actual military assistance from the West, the best Ukraine can hope for is a bloody and prolonged insurgency. Simply giving them weapons and other aid wont cut it if they want to keep their government and military intact.
