Wonder what/if Canada's biggest theatre chain Cineplex will do. We have several “Premium” theatres called AVX theatres. Reclining seats, some D-Box seating, Atmos sound and slightly bigger screen. We pretty much finished the 35mm to digital projectors conversion about 10-11 years ago. I don’t think they can convert the halogen bulb systems to laser, but who knows. I was told they could be upgraded via chip from 2k - 4k, but I doubt they’d do it cause of cost (even if free)
@sblfilmsis there a license fee to pay to play/run Dolby Vision/Atmos at you theatres? Maybe a Lucas thing, but there was a fee to advertise you could run THX 20 years ago at least. We qualified for sound (even too a couple trailers, after the digital change) but Famous Players (Viacom company which was sold to Cineplex) didn’t want to pay the fee back then.

THE GENTLEMEN: SEASON ONE (NETFLIX) 4.25/5
I really liked the series, and the overall cast of the show. I was a fan of the movie that inspired the movie and works on pretty much the same premise, but more from the bosses perspective of the business. I liked seeing the muscle/growers of the operation as well. Well you got the muscle in the movies as well, but I like the smaller group here. I really liked/hated the tension of the show because they could easily go one way of the other at the snap of a finger. I also really hope we get a 2nd season of the show. It has been left W - I - D - E open for it, and believe it’s done well enough. viewer wise to warrant a 2nd season.

I wouldn’t mind more of the universe. I enjoyed Resurrection for the approach it took and possible future again. Although I would like to see something near the beginning or something involving “the one’s” that came before. Go like fucking Avatar: The Last Airbender and have their knowledge downloaded and passed down to the next.

I care because the next leader of the US will likely result in actual (or not) deaths of many people, not only in the US, and the election will be decided by low-information voters like you. You keep making glib comments about political leaders who are basically evil, and then cover yourself later by saying you are just trolling. Trump and Musk are evil, evil men.

Republican bill would rename D.C.-area airport after Trump

A generation after renaming National Airport, some Republicans have set their sights on the other D.C.-area airport — which they want to name after Trump.

I’m total eclipse for 44.9secs around 3:18pm. Working until 2:30 that day, and gotta remember sunglasses for driving home, and hopefully get a pair of glasses for viewing. They got highway signs warning drivers not to really drive during that time.

I'm a bit disappointed that the vast majority of the songs will be covers and not original compositions
‘Joker 2’ Musical Details Revealed: At Least 15 Cover Songs, Original Tracks May Be Added (EXCLUSIVE)

"Joker 2," with Lady Gaga and Joaquin Phoenix, will be a jukebox musical — no original songs are expected to be in the DC Comics film.
If they can give me Moulin Rouge 2 quality creative covers/musical mashup. Then I see/have no problem with them not doing anything original for the movie. Although a new original song would probably drop during the credits for Oscar consideration. -

I bet they’ll argue that he didn’t serve 2 Consecutive Terms and reason why he can “run” again in 2028. Probably be ashes in one of his own golden Trump shoe boxes, so here’s hoping for that at least

That was indeed trippy (bowl of both Malawi and C99) I believe I still followed the story but iIt’s be interesting to see when where she was taken for the cloning process. Plus that whole opening doomed future vision plays differently somehow but wonder how the road will twist/turn its way there.

I’ve only seen the 2nd movie one (in theatre) and absolutely hated it. I remember checking my phone on the time several times throughout. Plus the Cuba thing had me throw my hands up and say “ SURE! WTF NOT!” I like big dumb fun action movies but this one was just big and dumb.

I can’t believe I never got into WoW. My friends and I were done with school and they were absolutely consumed by the game. I mostly stuck to shooters back then. Almost got talked into it many times but I think seeing how addicted they were scared me away.
Kind of with you on being scared to play the game, but it also doesn’t look like my type of game either. Friend from school, also my comp-tech teacher’s daughter. Didn’t really keep in touch after HS, but my buddies did. She got engaged and after a year or two called it off. Her fiancé got addicted to WoW, stopped going to his university classes and hardly went out to socialize. I remember my brother playing for hours at a time while we shared a room together, and chatting it up with his buddies at the same time. They were on almost as much as him from all the yelling/swearing coming from our room -

I thought the prosecutors here and in the other cases had a policy of not proceeding with prosecutions against candidates for office after a certain ‘point of no return’ late in the election season, and the gambit was to stall until that date?
Maybe it’s just in the Georgia case, I can’t remember.
I believe one (D.C. Case, I think) was given the go ahead to head for trial because charges occurred before the 6 months window of the election. -
I kinda think he let the attack play out, to help justify more action in Ukraine. Sad thing is that they didn’t seem to find the guys yet and I believe more attacks were possible to happen within weeks. No matter who takes the blame/responsibility for the attack, Ukraine will always be the ones to blame. Shit is going to get real hot out there, real soon

WONKA (4K/ATMOS) 2.75/5
I knew they were going to do a few musical numbers, but the movie is a musical. I think that kinda threw me off a little. Some songs were good and played around with a few familiar notes, but nothing I remember by heart like the classic. The movie just never picked up the pace, sure a few good moments, but overall slow. Maybe I’m also a little bias because a) it’s really playing into the Gene Wilder classic and b) I had high hopes because of Paul King. What he did for the 2 Paddington films are pure magic and never reached the same magic here. I did really enjoy Hugh Grant’s Oompa-Loompa. The disc looked great and shares the same colouring of his 2 Paddington films. The ATMOS seemed overall active but watched with my mom and her new hearing aids. So I had the volume a little lower than what I would have preferred. Might give it another viewing with my nieces and wounded if my thoughts will change a bit.

Trailer looks good and I love the dark gittiness look still being kept from The Batman. Plus it looks like Colin is loving playing this character and wanting a bigger role in a Batman world.

Yeah my mom was online right away to verify the ones I bought and are legit. They have some code along the one arm to verify. Looking at the Amazon glasses linked, pretty sure they’re the exact same ones
