I love the Mets bringing in Edwin Diaz in the 7th. They have done it more than once this week. You need 7 outs to win the game 4-3, and it doesn’t matter exactly which outs he gets. Putting your best leverage relievers in at the point in the 7-8-9th innings where he will face the most difficult batters is the smart play.
