VIOLENT NIGHT 2.75/5 (4k/Atmos)

There’s a great fun movie in here, but felt a little bogged down. It’s pretty much Die Hard (2) and Home Alone kind of combined into one. David Harbour as always is great eating up whatever role he’s in (even Hellboy) When the movie fires on the right cylinders, it’s a fucking blast. The 4K disc looks overall good, but suffers a bit with interior scenes being a bit saturated looking. Atmos track was serviceable but lacked any real height to the soundtrack/action. We are getting a sequel with Harbour returning, but I hope they keep up with more of the Home Alone/Die Hard action craziness. These movies don’t need a huge plot and more action is always better for these weird plots of a movie. Give it a stream and who knows, maybe I’ll like it even more with another viewing. 

So it’s now just Superman for the title. I’m fine with it, but didn’t mind the legacy portion either

They worked well because they could still get away with random stereotypical shit in the movie without offending people. Probably can’t do that as much anymore without real backlash from one side or another. I long for the return of the Airplane, Naked Gun and classic Mel Brook’s zaniness in a movie. Offend someone and then offend another, let everyone get their licks in and laugh about it once again.

So I once again I wanna thank @Slug for running this event year after year. Also for being very generous with the gift card prize. He told me to represent my team, and at first thought a hat. Then I thought “How often do I really get to do this” So I went a little bigger 

my first official American Team Jersey. Joining a few of my MANY Jays jerseys, but they all match Also I’m not stoned in that pic, just on a few pain meds. Stoned shortly afterwards to help me out 

They keep trying to do something new with these characters and people don’t want it. The reason why the 2nd last movie worked so well was because of the nostalgia. I would love for them just to remake the classic Muppet Show again like in the movie. I’m sure plenty of guests would love to be on the show once again. Plus they better give me more BoBo The Bear. The last blue time they got anywhere close to the old show was when they Muppets Tonight with Clifford as the host. Hell I would love to see The Jim Henson Hour type of show return as well. I got excited last year when they started talking about rebooting The Storyteller. Just need a new storyteller since we lost both Hurt and Gambon. Give me Stephen Frye as potential replacement 

Yeah nothing like a good intense February T-Storm to wake you up at 2am, like me here S. Ontario. Man they were downpours a long loud rolling thunder. I don’t think I summer storms that were as loud as this one. Think we have another round or 2 coming, before it flash freezes. Only for one day and back into double digits the day after. 

Same people who did the Fyre Festival? 

Just watched the first episode and already like it more than the movie (not hard to do) Main cast seems ok, but the kind playing Aang, has the perfect voice for Linus. The grandmother was the real sour note in the acting. Sister was paying for Netflix and gotta hopefully cram it all in before it expires in 2 weeks. 

I see this song shooting back onto the charts. Might be by Garth or some weird mashup that I actually wouldn’t mind seen attempted (Impress me internet)

Anyways, how far back does the south really wanna go back with woman’s rights? 

What the hell is that, and I kinda hope it’s real. 

That whole thing gave me a big Army of Darkness vibe. You know, minus the whole demonic possession/monster thing. I’d give a demo a whirl

If frozen embryos are children, the people who provided the eggs and sperm should be arrested for handing over several of their children to be indefinitely incarcerated. The clinic itself should beheld accountable for the mass incarceration of children. And to avoid half measures... what do we do about the children who are currently incarcerated at the clinic? This whole position is appalling and unjustifiable. 

NAH! They love throwing “people” of all ages into the slammer. As long as someone is profiting in some form or another with “people” in jail, all seems to be cool. The only real downside is that they can’t extort these incarcerated “people” for that reality tv series money.

I just see that being the case and not knowing that they were pretty standard/mandatory not that long ago to get the shot. Idiots probably don’t care/believe the shots in doing dick in their health, kids and others.

The Season 3 book announcement from Reacher himself. I’m almost done with Season 3, with 3 left to go (one hopefully tackled tonight) Liking the quips and nods to past shows/movies they might have been on. Should see if they start filming again in Toronto soon

I wish you luck in one day reuniting with a 3D screen of some sort. Thankfully projectors are still (mostly) including 3d playback. Can’t wait to update to a laser JVC 3D projector one day

I don’t know what to think of this news. The big reason is because I can still get my Marvel’s 3D films from Japan. Will be getting The Marvels when I have money next month for its release. So this seems like it’s international rights, but I think Marvel still has a little say in the release. I hope that this deal doesn’t screw what might be the final nail in the 3D collectors coffin. 
 

the only benefit I see to them taking over, is that they might finally fix the neutering that Disney did to their Atmos/DTS:X or any track for their recent movies releases. So here’s hoping that I get at least THAT out of the deal, but gain, I worry for my Marvel 3D releases.
