So, one of the things he announced during his speech was that he was temporarily waiving all interest on federal student loan debts. It's...something, at least, but I feel like he could do more. Like, maybe just cancel the interest altogether? Temporarily defer all loans? Take a certain percentage off all loans? I mean, they spent 1.5 trillion dollars the other day just to try and prop up Wall Street which is the same amount as all student loan debt combined.

So, update on my brother: he came to his senses (or at least enough) to finally get into rehab. He's on his way there now. Thank fuck. At least he's not on the streets.

...so...in case you thought this day wasn't fun enough, my parents gave me an update on my brother's situation. Long story short, he's been dealing with drugs for well over 5 years now, and has been in and out of jail and rehab multiple times. On Saturday, we all staged in intervention to try and get him into rehab one more time, and he ultimately agreed. When they brought him there, the treatment center said he was exhibiting psychiatric symptoms, and they were not equipped to take him in that state. He was sent to a hospital emergency room, where he had to be held for at least 72 hours. They let him out earlier today...but he still refused to go to treatment. And since he's not allowed back home because he's made my parents' lives a liven hell for so long, the hospital just released him out into the streets. All he has with him now is a bag of clothes and a small amount of cash. No phone or wallet. ...I feel like he's going to end up dead in the streets somewhere. Fuck everything.

I stocked up tonight. Most of the perishables were taken already, but I already just have to look after myself and my cat, so I should be good for a couple weeks at the very least.

I'm glad I also have the ability to work from home. I need to be in the office tomorrow, but I wont be after that.
