  1. Saying that gay people shouldn’t marry is to support their status as second class citizens. The very position itself is discriminatory against gay people. If one didn’t think less of gay people they wouldn’t hold that position.
  2. I serve black people but don’t support them marrying white people.
  3. I was preparing myself for this but it’s still hard to see it actually happen.
  4. I wasn’t being serious. If you guys were serious everytime you used guillotine then this whole board should be monitored by the FBI.
  5. Do you think he would have served them if they were having a non-legally binding commitment ceremony? Or is it only because the government was involved? It’s not political, it’s bigotry. It’s frankly disheartening you are comparing my relationship to the evils of the Trump administration.
  6. It’s also different to refuse service to an entire group of people than it is to refuse service to someone who is complicit in locking up children in cages.
  7. Trump is already planning on using the NFL protests in the fall to fire up his base. He’ll do the job for us whether we chose to be civil or not.
  8. Sorry guys. I’m quitting caffeine cold turkey this week and the withdrawals are making me sometimes slip into bitch mode. Well, more so than I usually do.
  9. I mean, why does it matter? That really was the main point of my initial post. You only quoted my first paragraph, which was intended as more of a joke (hence the emoticon). The second paragraph is more what acually concerns me. These debates have been happening for over a half a year and haven’t gone anywhere. I also post on the Vestibule where it’s much more poplar to hate on TLJ and I just avoid discussing it because it obviously isn’t going anywhere. It seems like anytime a TLJ makes any sort of remark or a boycott, the fans go crazy. The thing is I actually expect more of the users who typically argue in favor of TLJ,l. Wade has even asked you guys many times to stop. "To argue with a man who has renounced the use and authority of reason, and whose philosophy consists in holding humanity in contempt, is like administering medicine to the dead, or endeavoring to convert an atheist by scripture. Enjoy, sir, your insensibility of feeling and reflecting. It is the prerogative of animals. And no man will envy you these honors, in which a savage only can be your rival and a bear your master." - Thomas Paine
  10. So what you’re saying is that you’re fine with letting them hate them, you just want to make sure they know they are in the minority and that their opinion doesn’t matter in the grand scheme of things. I dunno, I just don’t care anymore. These discussions have been happening for over half a year now and I think if TLJ haters were capable of changing their minds it would have happened a long time ago. If they want to think they are in the majority then let them.
  11. I don’t see the big deal in taking pictures of my ticket. Hell, I’ll send moviepass dick pics everytime if that becomes the policy. Just gimme those cheap movie tickets.
  12. Doesn’t A- translate to just okay? I’m not an expert on this sort of thing, so someone can correct me. The last one scored an A. Solo scored an A- and didn’t have the best legs...
  13. At 99% on Rotten Tomatoes this is the best reviewed movie of the summer. This movie was getting a lot of hype while on the festival circuit and after seeing it last week I can gladly confirm this documentary lives up to the hype. I say this with no exaggeration that it was one of the most profound movies I’ve seen in a while. I cried many times even though nothing particularly sad happens, but also felt lifted up at the same time. I walked out wanting to be a better person, and over a week later that feeling has stuck with me. With all of the negativity in the world these days there is something powerful about seeing an uncommonly decent man do the right thing for decency sake and succeed because of it. Even if you typically don’t catch documentaries in a theater, this is absolutely a must see.
  14. The word of mouth for Jurassic World 2 is not good based on what I’ve heard from my friends and family. But I actually liked it better than the last one (which I really did not like). It’ll be interesting to see how it does in long run.
  15. This is infuriating. Unfortunately a story like this won't spark the appropriate outrage because the man himself is hard to find sympathy for. Most people will just shrug their shoulders and say he deserves to die anyway.
  16. I loved The Last Jedi but am also completely fine letting people dislike it. I guess I'm weird like that.
